Stygian Cyclone - Low AoE damage and Silence ; ignores shadows. Stygian Sphere - Cures itself for 1800-2000 HP and removes negative status effects. Malign Invocation - Mid-high AoE damage and Amnesia . Dark Arrivisme - Mid AoE damage and knockback; Dispels some buffs (approx. 3); Gives Yaanei a strong intimidation effect for a short time. Interference - AoE Dispels a large number of status effects; Either does very high damage or does damage proportionate to the number of buffs dispelled Draw In: Used separately on each player on its hate list, followed immediately by Besieger's Bane. Players standing more than 20 yalms away from Yaanei may not be drawn in. Besieger's Bane - AoE Bio, Terror (Approx. 10-15sec) and Zombie, used under 25% HP only. Yaanei will use Besieger's Bane back-to-back until it has affected every player with hate. Besieger's Bane has a chance to fully reset enmity on the players affected. Besieger's Bane has a bigger range than other abilities/spells. Deathly Diminuendo: AoE damage with Additional Effects: Curse and Bio (15HP/tic). Hellish Crescendo: AoE damage with Additional Effect: Paralysis.	Moves at 12% enhanced speed.

Possesses an unusually wide aggro range. Extremely resistant to Head Butt. Susceptible to Paralyze, but Highly resistant. Mages are advised to stay beyond 20 yalms to avoid damage from AoEs. Can be easily pulled down the mountain to Veridical Conflux #3. Besieger's Bane can be countered with Terror Screen and by keeping the tank's HP high before it's used. If all party members use a Terror Screen at 25% it is possible to defeat Yaanei before the effect wears off. Paladins should save Fealty for the last 25%. (see testimonials)

Historical Background[]

Yaanei or Gaja is the "elephant" piece from the ancient Indian game caturaṅga (Sanskrit चतुरङ्ग). Its movement varies between sources, but can move two squares in any diagonal direction (similar to the Alfil of Shatranj), one square forward or diagonally (similar to the Silver General of Shogi), or orthogonally (similar to the Rook of modern Chess). In general, its closest analogue to modern Chess would be the Bishop.
