WHM General Introduction WHM

As a long time FFXI player and White Mage, I have really gotten a solid feel for this job. I have played White Mage as almost all of the races up until this point, even taking the job to 75 on two of them so far. This Guide is just a guide on how to play the job as I have seen it done so far. Some people may disagree with me and find they prefer to play WHM differently, but in my experience, these are the ways that the majority of competent and efficient White Mage's play. I am not close minded and I realize that even a White Mage isn't beyond Soloing, so I include in here both Support/Healer Information as well as Solo/Melee Information. While I do not recommend Meleeing in a party at higher levels, the Weapon and Armor choices are here in case you are Skilling Up, Farming, or camping a Notorious Monster.

It is my opinion, as you will read throughout this Guide, that White Mages belongs on the side lines ensuring the safety and continuity of their party. The important stats for a White Mage are as follows: MP, Mind, -Enmity, MP Recovered While Healing (otherwise known as hMP), Healing Magic Skill, Enhancing Magic Skill and Cure Potency. It is up to each person depending on their own circumstances to decide the level of importance of them to their Character and to keep a healthy balance of each as it is possible. Personally, I keep different sets of Armor & Weapons on me at all times to switch out by using Macros to suit what ever occasion might arise, but not everyone can do that. But I will go into this more further on.

The following links are to Subsections of my guide that will deal with different aspects of the choosing to be and playing a White Mage.
