Vana'Bout

Vana'Bout is an event that lets you combine forces with players from all over the world!

Over the course of the challenge period, each adventurer will receive "plaudits" based on the value of their contribution when completing a special Records of Eminence objective. Objectives are set automatically for you once the event begins, you can check the list of active objectives and your progress towards them from the 'Vana'Bout' menu item in your Quests interface.

The total number of plaudits earned by adventurers around the world will be tabulated and if it exceeds the target amount, the challenge shall be considered a success! There will be a special reward campaign added to the usual monthly campaigns as part of the event.

In addition, personal rewards will be given to those adventurers who really make an effort during the event! The more plaudits you accumulate during the challenge period, the more rewards you can choose from.

Objectives[]

Main Article: Vana'Bout (RoE)

Adventurers will be given fifteen total Vana'Bout objectives in their Quests menu. There are six (VB) objectives which are active for the duration of the current challenge and there are nine (VBD) daily objectives which cycle every Japanese Midnight. Pay close attention to the descriptions of each challenge, this event is known to introduce localization errors like "Deal 500+ Water Damage" when the description states Lightning damage. The description is usually correct. Stay alert.

The rewards will be added to the usual monthly campaigns and their contents will change each time a reward challenge is held.

Plaudits Goal: 100% achieved[]

The Great Odyssey Campaign
The following changes will be made to the rewards for reaching the Otherworldly Vortex in Sheol A, Sheol B, and Sheol C.
-Job points earned will be increased by 50%.
- Moogle Segments acquired will be increased by 50%.
- The number of lustreless scale boxes, lustreless hide boxes, and lustreless wing boxes acquired will be doubled.
* The type of item obtained depends on the Sheol entered
Obtain 10,000 Exemplar Points or 10,000 experience points
If you have 1 or more plaudits, you can receive your points from the Coordinator Moogle located in Mhaura (G-8) once the challenge is finished.

Add the Model Synergy Furnace II to the list of exchangeable items in the June Login Campaign

Personal rewards[]

The more plaudits you accumulate during the challenge period, the more rewards you can choose from, with the prize tiers ranging from Bronze to Gold. You can select one reward from each tier that you meet the conditions for. The reward items that can be exchanged for personal rewards will be changed each time the reward challenge is updated.

* The value changes depending on how many plaudits you earn during the challenge period. You will receive 10 experience points/exemplar points per plaudit.
† If you are unable to earn exemplar points, you will receive experience points instead.

Job point rewards also vary with plaudits. You get an extra job point for roughly every 10 plaudits earned past the minimum threshold for Gold rewards.

Once the challenge period is over, you can select a reward based on the number of plaudits you earned by speaking to the Coordinator Moogle at Mhaura (G-8).

Version Updates[]

14 Dec 2023 - Overall plaudit target reduced to 25% of the original target of 16,275,000.
13 May 2024 - Silver Tier threshold lowered to 750 plaudits, players now have more time to finish incomplete objectives. Accumulated plaudits now visible from the Quest menu, Vana'Bout objectives restructured and moved to separate supercategory of quests. Some objectives now can grant more than 10 plaudits. Leaderboards and end-of-challenge titles added.
07 Oct 2024 - Rewards changed
12 Feb 2025 - Requirements for I'm on a Boat (VB), Obtain Hallmarks (VB), and Obtain Gallantry (VB) relaxed. Total number of daily objectives reduced. Plaudit totals for reward tiers adjusted downwards.
12 March 2025 - I'm on a Boat (VB) now counts quus catches in addition to bastore sardines.
