:* Didn't like the layout? That's a pretty weak reason. You realize that we are able to adapt and change things that Wikia can't/won't? You're doing some real good work, I checked your contribs and you're over the 1000 mark. You can put on your userpage if you didn't already know about it :) --User:Charitwo/Sig 23:05, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

Hey, question about Republican Legion's Fourth Divison, is it supposed to be Fourth Division? --User:Charitwo/Sig 23:20, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

I don't know exactly. I was simply looking at WOTG mission 2's page and added in these details. If you think it should just be "Fourth Division," go ahead and rename it. --FFXI-Melios 23:22, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
Don't want to be too hasty if it's wrong, you can verify it if you want. It'd be more of a hassle to move it and have to move it back than just guessed and left it there wrong. --User:Charitwo/Sig 23:30, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
Well, I don't know really, I'm aligned with Windurst. I just wanted to fill in some campaign related details. Maybe "Repiblican Legion's" is a little redundant in name. --FFXI-Melios 23:48, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

Please do not add categories to pages in which they do not belong. Thanks. --User:Charitwo/Sig 23:03, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

They're not HNM's....? --FFXI-Melios 23:04, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
No. --User:Charitwo/Sig 23:05, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
Well that's just how are the Seiyin and beastman leaders not HNM's? --FFXI-Melios 23:08, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
Gods have never been HNMs, and neither have the Beastmen leaders. The factors between mobs such as Absolute Virtue, Tiamat, Nidhogg, etc. in terms of manning, strength, abilities, and rewards are beyond comparison. --User:Charitwo/Sig 23:19, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
That's quite different from what I've always understood. --FFXI-Melios 23:20, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
How are Beastmen Gods not HNM i.e. Overlord Bakgodek, Za'Dha Adamantking and Tzee Xicu the Manifest since they pop only once every 2-9+ days from a lotto of there NQ versions which can also be considered HNM since they are on a 24 hour pop. Is the definition of HNM something that has changed over the years? I have been playing since NA release and those Beastmen Gods have always been considered HNM, at the same time the Zilart Beastmen leaders have not since they have no HQ version and there drops stink anyways (Ocean Sahagin, Antican Consul and Tonberry Pontifex), so is there a more strict guideline that decides what is a HNM and what is not? since all the NM listed take more then 1 lvl 75 to kill and there attacks are much higher then a normal lvl 75 mob or NM and they pop on a 21-24 hour timer or longer depending on there lotto pop, yes I know that the NM versions of the Beastmen Gods can be solo-ed since I have done Orc and Qudav many times solo just to keep ToD. Also you don't have Cemetery Cherry listed as a HNM in which case why not? it pops every 60-72 hours once the Cherry Saplings are killed (the pop after that time mentioned) just as if King Arthro were popped and yet KA is a HNM isn't it? The level of KA might not be as high as other HNM but it is a HNM none the less from when the level cap was lower, only a very few of us remember those days. Serket is a HNM too, and I can solo that, Genbu is a God and people consider those HMNs (maybe not you Charitwo but many do), I can solo that one to so I am not seeing the definition of HNM. I am going to edit the page for Cherry and others to be a HNM for the time being. Brysky 23:29, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
I don't know honestly, but that's more of a discussion for the talk page on the HNM category. --Melios 01:13, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

Per a discussion amongst myself and most of the other admins, we've agreed that you deserve the right of Patroller for your contributions here. All your edits will be auto-patrolled (meaning we don't need to check them, you make good edits), you can patrol the edits of others (notice the red ! in recent changes) to ensure they are correct and vandalism free, if so you may choose to [mark as patrolled]. If you see vandalism or other bad faith edits, you also have the ability to roll them back, as can be found on diff, contributions, and history pages. Congrats and thanks for everything you do around here. :) --User:Charitwo/Sig 00:00, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Re: Problem with old Username

Hi, that's weird, shouldn't have happened. have you tried requesting a new password for the old account? May help. If not, drop me a line. TOR@fandom 17:20, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

  • do you request a new password? --Melios 18:01, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

You can change your password from "My preferences". --Chrisjander t/ c 21:50, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

  • For the old account...? --Melios 00:10, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
    • Nevermind, I figured out what I needed to do. --Melios 04:53, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

Congrats! I finally got your FFXI- prefix removed! :) --User:Charitwo/Sig 23:30, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

Was there something you wanted to change on this page? --User:Charitwo/Sig 22:59, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

  • Well, mostly to properly list which missions/quests were involved, but since the Vana'diel Profiles article was left directly on the page (as opposed to being put into a subpage like Kam'lanaut and Tzee Xicu), that wasn't possible due to protection lock. --Melios 23:02, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

Go for it, put done in the edit summary to let me know when you're finished. --User:Charitwo/Sig 23:06, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

Okay, done, though I still think you should consider splitting the article to a subpage like with the other two I mentioned. --Melios 23:18, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

Mob Abilities

I know you're a big contributor to the creation of articles for mob abilities and spells, when you have some time, I was wondering if you could please review the new pages created here and "un-stubify" them the best you can. --User:Charitwo/Sig 21:31, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

I thought you guys didn't want individual monster TP ability pages, but if you've changed your mind, then alright, I'll just base it on weaponskill/spell pages. --Melios 23:50, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
The reason for that mainly is because they' the aforementioned, a short sentence with 1 link. But you're pretty good with adding pages like these, and since you've already had added spells, these aren't going to hurt anything. --User:Charitwo/Sig 23:53, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
Okay, I guess we may as well get monster ability pages up, but it will take time to sort them out. --Melios 00:09, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
I just polished up the Behemoth special abilities pages. I used a "Mob Abilities" category since I didn't think they belonged under Spells (being TP moves) or Weapon Skills (not usable by players). Unless you think they should be bundled with weapon skills? --Melios 00:41, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
Nah, the category works. --User:Charitwo/Sig 00:49, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

Please try to keep colons inside: the bold to conform to the conventions here. --User:Charitwo/Sig 23:43, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

Check out Talk:Lethargic Daze when ya get a chance. --User:Charitwo/Sig 22:47, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

Is this all done, or you taking a small break? --User:Charitwo/Sig 22:01, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

Yeah mostly done. --Melios 09:58, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

I'm sure you've noticed your edits are no longer auto-patrolled (working on this issue now), do you still have the ability to rollback edits? It seems the JrSysop and patroller usergroup disappeared with the addition of the social features. --User:Charitwo/Sig 01:15, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

No, rollback option is gone. --Melios 01:18, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
Okay, thanks. Trying to get these rights restored asap. --User:Charitwo/Sig 01:21, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
Patrol and rollback functions seem to work again. --Melios 22:09, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
Yep. Good thing you edit so much, otherwise I wouldn't have noticed so quickly. --User:Charitwo/Sig 00:58, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

Diabolo's Shard

You have confirmation that it's indeed an avatar? I always see it in the chat log but have yet to actually physically see it long enough to see what it is. --User:Charitwo/Sig 04:09, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

I don't know really, I'm just guessing since it apparently uses Camisado, and was described as something like an Astral Flow summon. --Melios 04:15, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

Use the SMove template instead of a problem report. Also, upload an avatar! --User:Charitwo/Sig 03:20, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

Shadows of the Mind drops

I am sure this was unintentional, but your drops in group 4 are inconsistent with the number of runs- since one item from this group should drop on every run, and you indicate five runs, you would have gotten five total and not the three you instead added. Unless we are wrong about it being a "one of" group? Can you elaborate please. --Toksyuryel 14:02, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

It could be in error; I wrote down drops. However, I discarded the notes after recording the data on the page, so I can't recheck it. I think I got the Icarus Wings drop data wrong though. --Melios 16:29, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

Grimshell Shocktroopers

It would be a big help to me if you would post what items dropped for each run in this BCNM, so I can determine what the treasure groupings are. Thanks ^^. --Jawat 06:17, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

  • First run was Astral Shield, Assault Earring, Enhancing Mantle, Fey Wand, Mythril Ingot, and a Black Rock. Second run was Vassago's Scythe, Gold Ingot, Darksteel Ingot, 2 Fluorite, and a Chrysoberyl. Wiped on third one and ended up quitting because it was late. --Melios 06:23, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

Hey Melios,

The admins have agreed to promote you to JrSysop. Due to your contributions and dedication to the project, we feel you would benefit from having these extra privileges and hope you put them to good use.

With JrSysop, in addition to your rights as patroller. You can now delete, protect, and move pages. You can also view pages that have been deleted and undelete them (if necessary).

As far as protocol goes for deletion discussions, generally we let delete discussions run about 2 weeks unless the discussion is still active. If the consensus is to delete, the page is deleted and the talk page is moved to Article for Deletion - Name of page and placed in Category:AfD Discussions. If the consensus is to keep, the afd discussion is moved to a subpage of the talk page (e.g. Discussion ). SDelete requests are done at the discretion of the admin who handles them and dont require any discussion or talk archive moving unless a strong opposition is brought up agaisnt it.

For move requests, if its a spelling or a typo error, usually taken care of without discussion, and can be speedily moved. If its a request about how something should be named that is controversial amongst the community, then obviously there will be a discussion. Once determined, the talk page is moved to move discussion.

All Article for Deletion - Pagename, Discussion, and move discussion need a talkarchive template placed at the top of them.

With being an admin, you can also mirror POL announcements on our main page, generally POL puts them up between 3-4am Pacific standard time. These pages must be fully protected with cascading turned on and mirror the POL page verbatim and contain a Protected-SE template at the bottom and placed in either Category:News, Category:Life in Vana'diel or CategorY:Special Events, depending on the type of announcement. The articles must be name in accordance with our news conventions (see Category:News for examples ) based on how PlayOnline titles them. Images must also be named like the article in numerical sequence. The images also need an Protected-SE template on them. The images do not need to be protected when the articles they are used on use cascading protection.

If you have any questions about the aforementioned or otherwise, please feel free to ask myself or another admin.

--User:Charitwo/Sig 18:35, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

Being an admin, good community interaction is always a plus. You're encouraged to post more on the forums and even sign onto our IRC channel if you want. (CGI or Client) --User:Charitwo/Sig 01:15, 30 June 2008 (UTC)

Recent edits

This indicates that the Saruta bees are -1 ? How do you come across that, seeing as how they don't /check that way to a level 1 character. --User:Charitwo/Sig 16:28, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

They've always been decent challenge to me at level 1, and give 50 exp each at that level, which indicates they are two levels lower (-1). --Melios 16:31, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
I understand the formula, but can't see a feasible reason for a negative level of mobs. --User:Charitwo/Sig 16:38, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
Well, I always thought it was to give new character jobs an easy target to start on before going to bigger game. --Melios 16:45, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

New Topic on

A news flash has been placed on the English version of the offical website which needs placing on the main page. The address is [1].

Thank You

This is only on EU pol, NA pol remains the same. You can get User:Calvagh to put it on the German Wiki --User:Charitwo/Sig 11:11, 1 October 2008 (UTC)

Notorious Monster Pages

We try to use NM instead of Notorious Monster due a discussion Karuberu brought up once how the latter template should only be used on pages related to those elements, and the result was the birth of the color template. A while ago I had Charibot run through and change a bunch of them. Noticed you adding it to NM pages and wondering if you could switch your formatting habits to the former template, please :) --User:Charitwo/Sig 06:02, 2 October 2008 (UTC)

  • I'll try. --Melios 06:04, 2 October 2008 (UTC)

Dynamis Statues / simulacrum

You're good with this kinda stuff, per this move discussion. Does that make sense? Personally, I've never hear of statues being referred to as simulacrum and I've done dynamis for years, but the image description is hard to argue against. --User:Charitwo/Sig 16:32, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

I usually just hear them being called "icons" or "statues." I never put much thought into the Infinity Core description text. --Melios 16:40, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

You haven't been active very much lately and I was wondering if you were still interested in contributing to/helping maintain the wiki. --User:Charitwo/Sig 23:24, October 14, 2009 (UTC)

I haven't been playing for awhile. --Melios 02:31, October 15, 2009 (UTC)

The founders and administrators of FFXIclopedia and Eorzeapedia, together with the podcast gurus over at Pet Food Alpha, Limit Break Radio and the Aetheryte Radio Network - are excited to announce their newest project - Gamer Escape draws upon, and expands on, our collective experiences. We're combining the wiki platforms where you can get your information, podcasting platforms where you can listen to your favorite podcasting personalities, wordpress/news platform so you can quickly see what is going on with your favorite game, and of course, forums to allow you to discuss everything game related with the community.

What does that mean for FFXIclopedia?

We've copied the FFXIclopedia wiki content over to Gamerescape in order to seed and expand upon the wiki over there. FFXIclopedia will, of course, remain at Wikia and remain open and available for editing. To be clear, while there have been a few rather public departures from Wikia in the past few months, they are not a factor in our decision. The reality is that Wikia provides a great service for wikis and was a fine home for the past few years. They allow anyone with one click to try their hand at starting a wiki and a community. That is invaluable and, looking at Wikia's growth, has served them well. In light of some the recent public departures, we feel it was important to make this clear.

We are making this announcement because (i) we are truly excited about what we're launching; and (ii) you, the community, should know that the founders and some of the current admins and moderators will not be here, but will be developing the FFXI wiki/forums over at gamerescape.

What else is over at Gamerescape?

In addition to the content from the FFXIclopedia wiki, we have integrated Eorzeapedia - so all of your FFXI and FFXIV information is on the same site, just a click or two away. Also, in addition to FFXI and FFXIV, we've launched WakfuEscape, a platform dedicated to the upcoming Wakfu MMO (distributed by Square Enix). Complete with news platforms, forums and podcasts - we're continuing in our efforts to provide a site where you can get all of your gaming information without having to jump from site to site.

We've learned a lot since 2004 when we started FFXIclopedia, a lot of which is reflected in our new FFXIV and Wakfu wikis. We remain nothing more than a group of gamers at heart who enjoy playing games and helping the community develop a resource for those games. We're looking forward to continuing that effort over at We hope to see all of you there.

PS. For those that have an account - your log-in credentials should work at any site.
