User:Korvana did almost all the cutscene videos on the wiki, and practically all of the vids in the game. None of them show you how to level, where to go, or how to complete the missions, but they are unsurpassed in many ways, including being the most complete record of story content.
Due to an exploit, during the first 90 days after a character has been created, all gardening results will be limited to a single item. And leveling is easier now, and I never got high so I don't know how Wild grass compares with item farming at that level. Probably not well. And you don't need money for gear anymore, since there is Sparks of Eminence. But here is how it used to work:
10x Brass Flowerpot, Earthen Flowerpot, or Ceramic Flowerpot. Doesn't matter. Wildgrass Seeds from Aht Urhgan Whitegate. Water Crystals. Sell everything to vendors. You'd get more selling on the AH, but decide yourself if it is worth the time.
Ignore Crafts. Expensive and useless. Is there such a thing as a MMO that allows you to efficiently craft for yourself? I guess Anarchy Online, sort of, a handful of useful items. Not this one, though.
Get good at Macros. That's where I failed (and my internet connection was bad). Starting in the Jungle, you will be expected to know how. Might be earlier, now.
If you want / if it suits planting and harvesting elements better, you can use the harvested Fire Crystals, yielding Ice Crystals, and then use them too. Or even go Earth > Lightning > Water > Fire > Ice, but the Earth and especially Lightning are lesser results. Don't use the Wind or Light or Dark crystals though.
Gold leaves and such are more lucrative overall, but with a high chance for failure and massive investment, they are for rich players to get richer. This is how you squeeze by when you are poor, at the start.
A good crop will gross 10,000 gil, and both sets of items from the Elder Memories mission are required for The Road to Aht Urhgan, making wild grass difficult or impossibile early on. Weigh up the cost of waiting vs buying seeds on the AH, buying the items, time it takes to get the items, etc. If in doubt, level.

I thought Anarchy Online was broken, with 25% more HP for Atrox. I don't even have to look at how much more HP Galka get, they get more DEFENSE. HP is just a pool. With more defense, you don't even take as much damage in the first place, and it stacks up and up... Healers love Galkas.

Coeurl took Cat and the name from Vogt. Displacer Beasts have Cat, psionics as opposed to magic, writhing tentacles with suction cups, and a bad attitude. Coeurl have always had long graceful waving whiskers, and are even pacifists. In FF2 they had tufted ears like a Caracal. Coeurl don't have writhing tentacles, and their appendages come from their face, not their back.
