Hello! I'm Larahmie, a jack-of-all-trades extraordinare on the Midgardsormr server. Looking back on it, I probably should have just picked a job, but hey, at least I know some about all the jobs, which is a good thing for a mentor. If you're looking for a little advice on how a job is played, give me a ring. In fact, if you find yourself running around Midgard and have any kind of question, drop me a /tell, I'd love to help you out if I can.
Along with actually playing the game, I spend a fair amount of time otherwise modifying it or playing around with its images and concepts. I usually do these things through .dat replacements, making pictures and wallpapers with screenshots and the model viewer, and by trying to come up with character and story concepts for roleplaying in-game, respectively.
Above all else, though, I just look for new ways to have fun, and new things to work towards. It's so easy to get lost in the "everyday" grind of levelling and questing, and a lot of times, players forget to just have fun. With a lot of resources available these days, players seem to have lost their sense of adventure. Aht Urghan woke it up again, if just for a while. I always try to get people to remember that there are a lot of things that, at the very least, they haven't personally seen. Just exploring can be fun, as can pushing your limits trying to solo that NM you're not too sure you can. Take a trip to Valkurm and randomly help people out (but don't forget your "/em flexes!" emote!). There's a lot of stuff out there, and I always try and tell people (and myself) to not be afraid to go out and see it.
I guess that's all the big stuff. If you're ever on the Midgardsormr server, feel free to say hello, it can get quiet and lonely running around town and pretending to be productive ^.~
Projects and Goals
In-game, I've been trying to finish up my Paladin work - I just recently hit 73, which means that the grueling trek from 73-75 begins; it's further complicated since I run dynamis on my paladin, and that means losing exp sometimes. Ah well, it's all in good fun, and when I need to get away from that, I go out on my ranger and have some fun there. And then there's senseless, pointless fun and helping people out who may need it. That pretty much encompasses what I do in game, at least for now.
For the ffxiclopedia, I've been working on a couple of the requested projects - namely, trying to come up with descriptions for the various mob families (I still have quite a ways to go there), and also trying to make a traveling guide for players. I'm trying to make it a global work, though, so if you want to help contribute to that, feel free. The guide is over here if you want to take a look and maybe throw in some information while you're there.
