Obtained:
First obtained in quest The Truth Beckons. After completion of that quest, additional Traverser Stones can be obtained by speaking with Joachim in Port Jeuno. He will have a new stone every 20 hours. You can hold 3 stones at one time and there is no known limit to how many stones Joachim will hold for you, provided a sufficient amount of time has passed. 20 hours for 1 stone, 40 for 2, 60 for 3, etc. As of the Sept. 2010 update, Joachim will tell players the number of Traverser Stones he has ready for them, and will inform the player when he will have another stone ready if he has none.

The amount of Traverser Stones a player may hold can be increased by 1 each by obtaining the Viridian Abyssite of Avarice and Ivory Abyssite of Avarice, up to a current maximum of 5 stones held by the player.
The time required for Joachim to produce a new stone may be reduced by 4 hours each by obtaining the Azure Abyssite of Celerity, Ivory Abyssite of Celerity, and Crimson Abyssite of Celerity, down to a current interval of 8 hours. Obtaining a "celerity" abyssite will act upon all of the stones that Joachim is currently holding for you. (Example: Joachim is holding 60 stones (1200 hours worth; 60 x 20) for you. After obtaining one celerity abyssite, his stock will suddenly jump up to 75 (75 x 16 = 1200). Obtaining another celerity abyssite at this point would make his stock jump up to 100 (100 x 12).)
