Walkthrough

Starting the Mission

  • As soon as you accept this mission, the gate guard will send you to Heavens Tower (H-6/7 in Windurst Walls).
  • Go inside the Door: Clerical Chamber and talk to Kupipi who is behind the counter. She will tell you about the other two nations and hand you a key item Letter to the consuls. You can do the 2 nations in any order.
  • It should be noted that you don't have to do both BCNMs. Just pick one and go. I took my friend and only had to do one of the dragon/seeker BCNM. This is a little misleading. I thought it was telling me that I had to do both BCNMs.

San d'Oria ArrowSmaller Bastok

  • Talk to Heruze-Moruze at H-9 in Northern San d'Oria (in the Windurstian Consul), then speak to Kasaroro in the back room.
  • Next go to Chateau d'Oraguille and talk to Halver (I-9). He will request that you to head to Ghelsba Outpost.
  • Go out to H-7 in Ghelsba Outpost to find an Orc named Warchief Vatgit. Defeat him (he can be soloed at level 18).
  • Report back to Kasaroro in the Windurstian Consul. The San d'Oria part of the mission is complete.
  • Now make your way to the Windurstian Consul in Bastok Metalworks. Talk to Patt-Pott at I-7. He will direct you to speak to Pius (J-8) at the Department of Industry in the President's Office. Then you will be directed to speak to Grohm (H-9) who is in the Craftman's Eatery.
  • After speaking with the NPCs in Bastok, you will need to form a level 25 party (highly suggested that you have a BLM or RDM for sleep) and make your way through Palborough Mines to Waughroon Shrine (Can be done with a level 20 party with BLM using sleep).
  • You will only need Sneak while in the Mines. Make your way to the third floor by taking an elevator located at I-8 (or just use the handy maps to make your way there however you like).
  • Everyone will need Sneak on the third floor. The zoneline for the BCNM is located at H-10 on the third floor.
  • Only 6 members of the party will be allowed to enter this battlefield. When you're ready to enter, have one of the people who has the Mission active click on the Burning Circle and enter the battlefield. You will be fighting:
Dark Dragon
Seeker
  • If you are lowmaning this, be sure to bring many hiethers and hipotions(about 5)! Easily beaten with a whitemage/blackmage and monk/dancer using 2 hour.
  • Once you've defeated the BCNM, go talk to Patt-Pott again.
  • Now head all the way back to Heaven's Tower in Windurst Walls and talk to Kupipi to finish the Mission.

Bastok ArrowSmaller San d'Oria

  • Go to the Windurstian Consul in Bastok Metalworks and talk to Patt-Pott at I-7.
  • Next head to the President's Office at J-8. Talk to Pius in the Department of Industry.
  • You will be sent to talk to Grohm (H-9 in Craftsmen's Eatry) who will hand you 3 Pickaxes. It is suggested to buy more Pickaxes as they can break.
  • It is suggested that you buy the Map of the Palborough Mines as well as Silent Oils (if necessary).
  • Go to Palborough Mines to try and mine up some Mine Gravel from the Mythril Seams that are found throughout. One is located at I-8 on the first floor on the west side of the river. Trade a Pickaxe to the Mythril Seam until you receive the Mine Gravel. Alternatively, you can actually buy the Mine Gravel from the AH.
  • Once you get the gravel, make your way to I-6 on the third floor. You will find a refiner with a lid and a lever. Trade the gravel to the refiner and pull the lever.
  • Just drop off the ledge here to the floor below to find another lever. Pull this lever and you will receive some Mythril Sand.
  • Now head back to Patt-Pott in Metalworks and trade the sand to him. Talk to him one more time.
  • Talk to Kasaroro at H-9 in Northern San d'Oria (in the Windurstian Consul).
  • Go talk to Halver in Chateau d'Oraguille at I-9.
  • You will need to form a level 25 party (highly suggested that you have a BLM or RDM for sleep) and make your way to Horlais Peak. You need to go through Ghelsba Outpost to get here. From Ghelsba Outpost you can go through either Yughott Grotto or Fort Ghelsba - follow the maps to make your way there.
  • You will need Sneak and Invisible while in the higher level areas.
  • Only 6 members of the party will be allowed to enter this battlefield. When you're ready to enter, have one of the people who has the Mission active click on the Burning Circle and enter the battlefield. You will be fighting:
Dread Dragon
Spotter
  • Once you've defeated the BCNM, go talk to Kasaroro again.
  • Now head all the way back to Heaven's Tower in Windurst Walls and talk to Kupipi to finish the Mission.

Notes

  • Fight is Level Cap at 25.
  • After a cutscene, cast your prefight buffs. It is suggested to have a class that can sleep and to sleep the dragon while everyone attacks the Ahirman. The Ahirman must be silenced. The dragon has AoE Paralyze and a single target Petrify attack. Once the Ahirman is defeated, the dragon will go down quickly.

Game Script

The Three Kingdoms - Heavens Tower
Kupipi: Welcome to Heavens Tower. Are you the adventurer who came for your mission orders?

Kupipi: ...You're rank 2?

Kupipi: Oh, I know I shouldn't...but you di~d complete the Rhinostery mission...

Kupipi: And if you were good enough to do that, then I gue~ss you can handle the next one.

Semih Lafihna: And you are...

Kupipi: Do you know Lady Semih Lafihna?

Semih Lafihna: Kupipi, what business does he/she have here?

Kupipi: He/She is here to accept his/her next mission from Heavens Tower...but he's/she's still only rank 2.

Semih Lafihna: I don't need the details, Kupipi. Show me his/her file.

Semih Lafihna: This is a nice resume. It seems as if you fight betterrr than you look.

Semih Lafihna: ...And it also seems today is not your day.

Semih Lafihna: Kupipi. Process this adventurer's mission paperrrs.

Semih Lafihna: Relay his/her orders to him/her and give him/her a letter to the consuls.

Kupipi: Umm...
Uh... Understood!

Semih Lafihna: (*If you created your character in Windurst and received the initial cutscene with Semih) I didn't think we would meet again so soon.

Semih Lafihna: I can sense many good things within you. Let's see how you manage this new task.

Semih Lafihna: Kupipi. I'll leave the rest to you.

Kupipi: Yes, now where was I...?

Kupipi: According to the pact constructed by the three countries, Windurst is allowed a consulate in both Bastok and San d'Oria.

Kupipi: Your next mission is to travel to the consulates in these two countries and gather any information you can. Which country you travel to first is up to you.

Kupipi: You may receive various tasks from them, so use that as a means of gathering useful information.

Kupipi: When you have learned something interesting, return back here to Windurst with your report.

Kupipi: The quickest way to get to either of the two countries is by the ferry that departs from Mhaura.

Kupipi: Do you have a~ny questions?

A~ny questions?
I got it the first time.
Could you go over that one more time?

Kupipi: Yes, now where was I...?

A~ny questions?
I got it the first time.
Could you go over that one more time?

Kupipi: Don't forget that Windurst is a neutral country set on maintaining peace.

Kupipi: No matter what you are told in those other countries, you must remember that Windurst is not about to get involved in another Great War.

Bastok -> San d'Oria

The Three Kingdoms (pt.1) - Metalworks
Patt-Pott: Oh, you're the adventurer with the letter of introduction, yes?

Patt-Pott: It's good of you to come.
It must've been a long journey, riding a boat to a faraway place like this.

Patt-Pott: I studied hard to become a consul, hoping I'd be waited on by cutesy-wutesy secretaries, but my fate was to be delegated to this neck of the woods...

Patt-Pott: Oh! I'm sorry-worry!
Don't tell anyone I said that, please?

Patt-Pott: I mean, you can't blame me--I'm surrounded by musky Humes and scary Galka instead of cutesy...uh, you know.

Patt-Pott: Oh, Mih Ketto?
We have a guest here. Shouldn't you be serving tea?

Mih Ketto: What tea? We ran out of tea months ago!

Patt-Pott: Then why haven't you refilled our stock?
How many times have I told you...

Moyoyo: Uh...sir?
Would you like me to go out and buy some?

Patt-Pott: Hmm, well...
Now that you mention it, I don't remember seeing anyone selling tea here...

Patt-Pott: Hmm? You don't care about tea, you say? You want to hear about the mission? Oh, bother...

Patt-Pott: I'm sorry, as greasing people's...I mean, trying to make people happy-snappy has become a habit. It's part of the job.

Patt-Pott: Anyway, here's what you have to do...
Uh... That is... Let's see...

Patt-Pott: Topuru-Kuperu! What was it we were supposed to ask?

Topuru-Kuperu: Huh? What?
Did you call me, sir?

Patt-Pott: Oh! There you are!
You were making yourself so small I didn't see you!

Patt-Pott: The mission, man, the mission!
You know, for the adventurer from Windurst!

Patt-Pott: I know how homesick you are, but I expect you to do your share while you're here!

Topuru-Kuperu: Uh...I think it had...something to do with going to the Palborough Mines, sir...

Topuru-Kuperu: Oh...I remember now.
We need some refined ore.

Patt-Pott: What? Is that really something we should be asking a great adventurer from Windurst to do?
And the Palborough Mines are infested with Quadav, too!

Topuru-Kuperu: Beg your pardon, sir, but...I think it's our pretext for studying Bastokan technology, sir...

Topuru-Kuperu: But first, the adventurer is to meet with Sir Pius in the President's Office...

Patt-Pott: Ah, yes! Pius--Sir Pius. I think we've had dinner once...or perhaps it was brunch?

Patt-Pott: No matter. To work, then!
Good luck! Come back when you're done!

The Three Kingdoms (pt.2) - Metalworks
Grohm: Hm? What do you want?

Hey, you're not from Bastok, are you?

Grohm: What!? You're Windurstian, and you listened to what a Bastokan official told you to do?

Grohm: Hah! I have no idea why that Hume sent you here...or why your consulate sent you to him in the first place.

Grohm: You better listen good. A lot of us died trying to win the Palborough Mines back from the Quadav...

Grohm: It might not matter to a foreigner like you, but they always send us Galka to do the dirty work!

Grohm: What gets me the most is that they don't even think about it twice!
Even if you haven't been here long, you must've seen how they treat us.

Grohm: Never mind. Shouting at you won't change anything.
You wanted to know about refining ore, right? It's easy, but you have to remember the steps.

Grohm: Here goes:
1. Get a chunk of mine gravel.
2. Put that into the upper part of the refiner.
3. Take the onz of mythril sand out of the lower part of the refiner.

Grohm: You can either buy a chunk of mine gravel from someone, or get some by using a pickaxe on a mythril seam inside Palborough.

Grohm: The refining machine is so big, its upper and lower sections are on different floors.
Put a chunk of mine gravel into it on the third floor, and it'll produce an onz of mythril sand on the second floor.

Grohm: I know it sounds simple, but it's not. You've got the Quadav to deal with, and they're everywhere.

Grohm: Here, take these pickaxes.
Good luck. You're gonna need it.

Lion: Hey, you're an adventurer, right? From another country?

Lion: Sorry, I couldn't help but eavesdrop.
I'm going to the Palborough Mines, too.

Lion: Don't worry, I won't get in your way.
I don't think we're going after the same thing anyway.

Lion: At least, for now.

Lion: But you shouldn't think your mission is just a mine survey.

Lion: The beastmen seem to have found a new leader, and the Quadav are getting more powerful with each passing day. There could be another war...

Lion: Oh, there's one thing you should know. Do you know why the Quadav took the Palborough Mines?

Lion: Humes claim that the Quadav stole the mines from them, but in reality, the mines are the Quadav's home...no, their holy land.

Lion: The Quadav would rather die than lose it. But the Humes in Bastok don't know, and they don't care to know.

Lion: Well, it's time for me to go. Oh, and my name is Lion. I'm an adventurer, like you. I'll be seeing you around.

The Three Kingdoms (pt.3) - Metalworks
Patt-Pott: Ah, an onz of mythril sand!

Good job! Good job!
Tell Topuru-Kuperu what you've seen.

Patt-Pott: We'll return this onz of mythril sand to the government of Bastok after we've studied it.

Patt-Pott: So you were able to enter a beastman-infested area, perform your mission, and still manage to come back in one piece. Extaruordinary!

Topuru-Kuperu: What?
Oh, right. I guess so, sir.

Patt-Pott: Oh, let me guess--you were thinking about Windurst again, weren't you?
Snap out of it, man! You have work to do!

Topuru-Kuperu: <Sigh> Windurst...

Patt-Pott: Well, you can't say I didn't try.
Ah--but you will report that all of us are working exceptionally hard here, yes?

Patt-Pott: You're off to San d'Oria now, aren't you?
Have a safe and pleasant trip!

The Rank 2 Final Mission (pt.1) - Horlais Peak
Vauderame: It doesn't look like you've found what you're looking for here either.

Rochefogne: Yes, I thought that the Orcs may have had the sword, but I guess I was wrong.

Vauderame: But, what is this...this...this feeling of unrest?

Spotter: Arise, Wyrm of Darkness, Devourer of Light! I command you, smite my enemies where they stand!

Vauderame: ...!?

Rochefogne: What is that!?

Vauderame: Watch yourself. I've never seen any monster like this before.

Spotter: Heh-heh-heh... I'm so glad you could come. I didn't realize that my little deception would be so effective.

Spotter: You don't even realize what is playing out before your own eyes. However, that is of no matter, since this is the last thing you will ever see.

Vauderame: It's just like you said, Rochefogne. There is something bigger lurking behind the Orcs.

Rochefogne: Wait, Vauderame. It looks like we have a visitor.

Vauderame: An adventurer?
Excellent. We have the perfect job for him/her.

Vauderame: A fight with no gain is a fight for fools.
Let us leave this battle for the adventurer and continue on.

Spotter: Well, it seems the two have run off.
That makes no difference, because new prey awaits.
Wyrm of Darkness, unleash your fury on those who stand in your presence.

The Rank 2 Final Mission (pt.2) - Horlais Peak
Spotter: This...this cannot be! Defeated...by these weaklings!?

Lion: Looks like I missed the show.

Lion: Hey, wait a minute. This dragon...

Lion: No doubt about it, it's a nether beast from the cursed Northlands! What's it doing here!?

Lion: We've not seen their kind since we destroyed the Shadow Lord and sealed the Northlands...

Lion: To see one here, with the beastmen, it's as if...

Spotter: The dark one will soon return to this world. I was merely preparing his return...

Lion: What? Who are you!?

Spotter: I am Spotter, servant to the Shadow Lord. The "Great Hero" who saved you twenty years ago is gone; none can defeat my lord now!

Spotter: While your people were squabbling amongst themselves, we have been preparing for his return.

Spotter: And when he comes...he will destroy you all!

Spotter: Enjoy your lives, while they last... Foolish...weaklings... Hah-hah-hah...

Lion: The Shadow Lord is back! War will come again!

Lion: Our days will be filled with hatred and sorrow.

Lion: Player name, you must go back and report on what happened here. If the Shadow Lord truly has returned, our prospects are dire indeed.

Lion: I am off. Until we meet again, Player name!

Bastok -> San d'Oria

The Rank 2 Final Mission (pt.1) - Waughroon Shrine
Seeker: Heh-heh-heh... I'm so glad you could come.

I didn't realize that little rumor I spread would be so effective.

Seeker: Yes, I'm the "new leader" of the beastmen!
I will lead the beastman hordes on a grand campaign to rid the world of you and your kind!

Seeker: The day of reckoning will come, and the beastmen will be the ones to rule this world!
Ah, but you won't be there to see it...

Seeker: Because you will already be dead!

Seeker: Arise, Wyrm of Darkness, Devourer of Light!
I command you--smite my enemies where they stand!

Ayame: First, the beastmen and now this...quite a mission this is turning out to be.

Ayame: But there is only one way to end it!

The Rank 2 Final Mission (pt.2) - Waughroon Shrine
Seeker: This...this cannot be!

Me, defeated...by these weaklings!?

Lion: Oops, I guess I missed the show.

Lion: Hey, wait a minute. This dragon...

Lion: No doubt about it, it's a nether beat from the Northlands!
What's it doing here!?

Lion: Their kind haven't been seen ever since the Shadow Lord was destroyed and the Northlands sealed...

Lion: To see one here, with the beastmen, it's as if...

Seeker: The Shadow Lord will soon be brought back to this world.
I was merely making preparations for His return...

Lion: What!?
Who are you!?

Seeker: I am Seeker, a servant of the Shadow Lord.
The "Great Hero" that saved you twenty years ago is gone--none have the power to defeat Him now.

Seeker: While your people were busy squabbling with each other, we have been preparing for His return.

Seeker: And when He comes...He will destroy you all!

Seeker: Enjoy your lives...while they last...
Foolish...weaklings... Hah hah...hah...

Lion: The Shadow Lord...is coming back...
There's going to be another war...

Lion: Our days will be filled with hatred and sorrow once more...

Ayame: And I call myself a Musketeer...
That I would let myself be hit like that...

Ayame: Thank you for helping me.
I am Ayame, of the Mythril Musketeers.
I would be dead were it not for you...

Ayame: We'd received reports of strange beastman activity in this area, so I was sent here to investigate.
I didn't expect to run into...that.

Ayame: I must go back and report.
We'll meet again, adventurer.
May you travel safely.

The Three Kingdoms - Bastok Metalworks, Windurstian Consul
Patt-Pott: Ah, welcome back! I see you're still in one piece!

Patt-Pott: Topuru-Kuperu will write down your report. Tell him what you've seen!

You tell Topuru-Kuperu the events that took place.

Patt-Pott: Oh, my! Is that true!? Oh, my! Oh, my!

Patt-Pott: It's simply amazing that you could run into such a monster, and not be pounded into adventurer soup! Don't you think so, Topuru-Kuperu?

Topuru-Kuperu: What? Oh, right. I guess so, sir.

Patt-Pott: Oh, let me guess--you were thinking about Windurst again, weren't you? Snap out of it, man! You have work to do!

Topuru-Kuperu: <Sigh> Windurst...

Patt-Pott: Well, you can't say I didn't try. Ah--but you will report that all of us are working exceptionally hard here, yes?

Patt-Pott: Since you've visited both San d'Oria and Bastok, you may now make your triumphant return to Windurst! Oh, and tell everyone we said hi!
