Walkthrough

• Trading four stacks of crystals or repeating Bat Hunt eight times will give the necessary rank points for this mission. (Rank points need to be 90% full).
• When you have enough rank points, instead of offering you the list of missions, the gate guard will tell you to go to the garden in Chateau d'Oraguille.
• Go to (F-7) in Chateau d'Oraguille for a cutscene.
• Return to the gate guard to receive the actual mission.
• Get ready to fight and head to the battlefield at Horlais Peak, accessible via Ghelsba Outpost and Yughott Grotto.

• The battle can be won solo, on certain jobs. (see testimonials)
• A maximum of 6 characters that are currently on the mission, or have previously completed it (may have switched allegiance even), will be allowed to enter the battlefield.
• The battlefield has a level restriction at 90.
• Buffs will wear off upon entering.
• There is no Experience Points loss upon defeat.
• From the battlefield, you will find 2 Warmachines and 3 Orcs:

• Darokbok of Clan Reaper (PLD)
• Derakbak of Clan Wolf (DRG)
• Jagidbod of Clan Reaper (RNG)
• Wolf Clan Warmachine
• Reaper Clan Warmachine

• Attacking even one of them will aggravate them all regardless of how it is done.
• All of them are level 68. The Warmachines have ~1800 HP, the Orcs ~4000 and the Wyvern ~1000.
• It is not necessary to defeat the Orc Dragoon's Wyvern to finish the Fight and get the cutscene, it can stay slept the whole time.
• The Orcs are susceptible to both Sleep and Lullaby, however Darokbok of Clan Reaper is more resistant due to its Resist Sleep trait. The Warmachines can be slept using ES+ Sleepga II or a well-geared RDM/BLM, BRD, or a WHM/BLM.

• After successfully defeating the warmachines and orcs, you obtain the key item Crystal dowser and should then report back to a gate guard to finish up the mission.

Chalvatot: That girl used to never come out of her room, but she's brightened up a bit since I started lettin' her help out in the garden. Claidie: Yes, but nothing we can do will bring back her parents... Claidie: As long as there is war and strife in Vana'diel, there will always be little girls like Lourima. Chalvatot: Your Highness... Claidie: Ah, Player Name. I called you here to thank you in person for bringing the dreamrose. Claidie: You are continuously putting forth your all for the good of the d'Oraguille family. As for me, I have not the power to retrieve a single seed. Chalvatot: The princess traveling to other lands? Think of your safety, Your Highness! Claidie: What if San d'Oria found herself in the same situation that Tavnazia did? What would become of me then? Would I just sit here and wait for the destruction of the kingdom? Chalvatot: Your Highness... Claidie: Twenty years ago, the beastmen concentrated their forces in Tavnazia...and then the explosion. Eideialc: Then it is true... Eideialc: The Orcs are using this portal to gather energy and enhance the power of their weapons. Eideialc: This may explain the explosion that led to the destruction of Tavnazia. Using the energy in its unstable form obviously has its consequences... Eideialc: I apologize. My name is Eideialc. I am an adventurer like yourself. I am on a mission for San d'Oria. Eideialc: From what it looks like, the Orcs are also searching for Lightbringer. And they seem to have some special way of locating it. If we don't find it before they do... Rochefogne: I applaud you on your resourcefulness. Pretty good for a mere adventurer. Eideialc: Who are you!? Rochefogne: The Orcs' crystal dowser is a nice piece of equipment. I use it myself. Rochefogne: It'd be a good idea to stop those Orcs from using the magic portal.
