Walkthrough
- Quest Conflict: If you have the quest A Timely Visit active, you may be unable to attain the proper dialogue in La Theine Plateau from certain NPCs. You may have to complete this quest before taking on this mission.
- Precaution: If you are of a low level, you may want to bring a few Silent Oils to prevent aggro from monsters. Alternatively, you could have someone help you defeat them.
- Talk to a San d'Orian Gate Guard to accept the mission.
- If your rank bar is empty trading 1 crystal is enough to enable this mission.
- You can repeat either Save the Children once or Bat Hunt twice to get the rank points needed.
- Head to La Theine Plateau
and speak to Galaihaurat next to a low wall at the bottom-middle box of (E-6) to start the rescue drill exercise. Head to (F-6) and talk to Equesobillot on the eastern side of the canyon.- Walk down the embankment
and talk to Deaufrain.Continue down to the lower level of the canyon.- Poison Funguars aggro by sound if your level is low. Defeat them if necessary or avoid aggro by casting Sneak or using Silent Oils.
- Talk to Vicorpasse, then Laurisse, and finally Narvecaint near the entrance to Ordelle's Caves. After speaking with all three, enter Ordelle's Caves.
- Optional: Speak to Augevinne and Yaucevouchat for additional information about the rescue drill.
- Upon entering, follow the left wall until you locate Ruillont hiding in a small pond next to a wall at (G-3). Speak to him to learn about his situation.
- Backtrack to La Theine Plateau. Speak to the Elvaan soldiers from the mouth of Ordelle's Caves to Galaihaurat at (E-6), until one gives you a Bronze Sword. The soldier who gives you Ruillont's sword is random. This also includes Galaihaurat just west of the ramp at (E-6), the first NPC you spoke to in La Theine Plateau for this mission.
- Return to Ruillont and trade him his Bronze Sword.
- Trading him a Bronze Sword before receiving one from his comrades will not progress the mission. You must receive a sword from one of the soldiers. After that, Ruillont accepts any Bronze Sword.
- Return to Vicorpasse to receive a Rescue Training Certificate.
- Return to San d'Oria and speak to a San d'Orian Gate Guard to complete the mission.
