Walkthrough[]
- Windurst Woods (K-7) - Perih Vashai wants you to watch an Old Sabertooth die and bring back its teeth.
- Optional: Talk to her guards Muhk Johldy and Kapeh Myohrye to receive more information.
- Sauromugue Champaign (L-8) - Go up the cliff here, then head south to L-10.
- 3 Sabertooth Tigers wait outside the cave.
- You can ride a mount in and out of the cave to avoid them or use Invisible. Bring a form of Warp (e.g. Instant Warp) for convenience.
- The tigers won't aggro a level 40+ character.
- Sauromugue Champaign (L-10) In the cave, find and touch the the Tiger Bones to spawn Old Sabertooth.
- Old Sabertooth spawns nearby and dies naturally (~3 minutes) while walking a bit back and forth.
- If you stay far away enough behind the Tiger Bones, he will not aggro you (even with the battle music activated).
- If you accidentally kill him, wait five minutes, then re-examine and he will pop again.
- After he dies, examine the Tiger Bones again to get key item
Old tiger's fang.
- If someone else started the process prior to you, actually seeing the Old Sabertooth die (see the death notification text) enables you to get the key item without first examining the bones to spawn the Sabertooth.
- Windurst Woods (K-7) - Return to Perih Vashai to complete the quest and receive Ranger's Necklace.
Note: If you do this quest with several of your characters, make sure you aren't holding the Ranger's Necklace from another character, as this will prevent you from completing the quest. If you do, you will get a message that you should return after sorting your inventory (normally refers to a full inventory).
