- Abilities have limitations as to who they will affect. Some abilities only affect a Single player, some will affect all players within a certain Area around the user, some will only affect players in Front of the user.
- Gaze Attacks can be completely avoided by facing away from enemies using them.
- Removal of status effects is most commonly done with various White Magic spells, usually granted from your party's healer; thus they are the cures listed in the chart below. However, there are typically various medicines that could be used in their place, should you be in a situation where such spells are unavailable or impractical. For instance, in the case of poison, an Antidote or Remedy could be used to heal it. There may even be other options, such as the Poisona Ring.
- While Flash and Stun can both be removed by the White Magic spell Erase, the durations of such effects are usually too short to bother with. In most cases it is recommended to simply let them run their courses rather than try to remove them.
- Bolded ability names are moves that cannot be used by all standard mobs of the family. Typically they are special moves restricted only to certain monsters within that family, usually NMs or HNMs, or they may be moves only used in certain areas.
- Hotlinked ability names can be learned and used as Blue Magic. Click their names for more information.
