/1 information

Some pages linked between and the Wiki are broken. An example would be Jug of Clear Blood Broth. The wiki lists this page as Clear Blood Broth which causes it's AH template to search for "Clear Blood Broth" which turns up no results. This is because lists it as "Jug of Clear Blood Broth." Put simply, the wiki seems to use the Item titles as they're listed in a players Inventory, as compared to using the item's full name as seen in the item description. I'm no good at coding templates, so someone may want to look into this on the Wiki's end to see if there's anyway to fix it without having to rename or create tons of redirects. I'll also leave a comment on the blog about this so they can sort out any mis-named Wiki links. --Snojoex 09:24, 4 August 2008 (UTC)

We use short names and they use long names from what I remember. We had a problem with them linking to us a long time ago and they fixed it from what I remember. I think all that needs to be done is their search will search the short name field too. I'll talk to them and see how we can fix this. --Ganiman 16:48, 4 August 2008 (UTC)

This template should only be listing the FFXIAH link if the item can be sold on the AH. I'll move the text line to the appropriate #if. --Chrisjander t/ c 16:55, 4 August 2008 (UTC)

The link can now take an alternate search string, such as: {{AH|Materials|Leathercraft|search=Square_of_Laminated_Buffalo_Leather}} --GAHOO t/ c 19:54, 15 September 2008 (UTC)

It's time we made the AH link ubiquitous on items.

Look, AH links are useful even on Exclusive tag items. They help bridge the gap between the various FFXI fansite communities. Every other FFXI Wiki maintains these links. Not having this is a statement that FFXIclopedia does not wish to be part of the community.

The last time this got reverted to the less useful functionality, I heard comments about it on other fansites and on various linkshells. This affects players. Leaving it the way it is now improves website experience, and all over a small button that is easy to ignore if you don't like it. Without this change, I see people use this wiki less, with the change, I see it used more.

Years/months ago, I let it go when it got reverted for my own reasons, but I think its time this changes. Not having this makes the site less useful. It sends a combative message. As the FFXI community gets weaker and smaller, we need to stick together. Gamerescape has it. BGwiki has it. Why not FFXIclopedia?

Agreed. I've wanted this to be fixed for a long time, but I never investigated the matter. You're completely right. If, for some reason, a user tries to undo your productive change, I'll protect the template. The FFXIAH link should be there no matter what.--Blue Donkey Kong (talk) 16:01, July 10, 2015 (UTC)
