This objective does not appear in your quest log, but it appears under RoE Quests 3 in the Other category in the Records of Eminence menu after it is unlocked.

Walkthrough

Emerge victorious in combat against Ark Angel EV by using a phantom gem of arrogance on any difficulty level.

After zoning, talk to Jamal Ru'Lude Gardens (H-5) to activate the quest.
- This will add Temper Your Arrogance to RoE Quests 3 under "Other."
Activate Temper Your Arrogance objective.
Purchase Phantom gem of arrogance and teleport to Ru'Aun Gardens Home Point #4.
Head inside to La'Loff Amphitheater and target the Shimmering Circle to select ★Ark Angels (4) (any difficulty).
Defeat Ark Angel EV.
Trade your Cipher: Ark EV to Wetata, Clarion Star, or Gondebaud.
Return to Jamal to report your success.

Players will be unable to receive the alter ego when trading the Cipher if on a Rhapsodies of Vana'diel mission involving the Ark Angels, such as during "Exploring the Ruins." Completing that cutscene/mission will allow the cipher to be traded.
