Could you please add White Mage Guide by Nynaeve to the list of Guides? --Chrisjander 20:11, 10 April 2006 (PDT)

Your right Divine Veil is there, Whoops. --BigBadWolf 06:26, 22 June 2006 (EST)

S and W Changes

  • Certain spells can be prohibitively expensive (Erase, higher Raise spells).

Each were between one and one a half million when I purchased them. --Zero 22:13, 29 July 2006 (EDT)

  • Erase was 250k when I purchased it about a month before the release of COP. Raise II was 300k and Reraise II was 200k when I obtained it. I stopped leveling WHM when R3 scroll hit over 1M, but as the ENMs were release the scroll eventually went down to 15k. Erase jumped to 1M right after COP was released, because certain mobs in certain zones made that spell a requirement. The other spells are not very expensive. All the spells past level 60 except for Raise III and Shell IV are dropped off Goblin Alchemist. --Ayrlie 12:02, 2 October 2006 (CDT)
Alchemists don't drop Shell IV? I could have sworn my copy came from one. It was definitely a drop from something, as I wouldn't have had much interest in buying it. But it's been long enough that I don't recall for certain where I got my copy. And Alchemists definitely do not drop Protectra IV or Protect IV. Those, afaik, are only available through vendors and furniture quests. As noted R3 is pretty inexpensive these days. But several months ago when an LS member complained about the WHM in his group not having R2, I checked the price and was shocked to discover that it was running for around 500K. --Althorn 18:21, 3 October 2006 (EDT)
I've gotten Shellra IV from Alchemists I think, but I dont recall ever getting Shell IV... But Althorn is right about the Protect Spells. --Nynaeve 09:06, 4 October 2006 (EDT)

S and W Changes

Ability to cure is limited by MP. --Drow 07:34, 2 October 2006 (EDT)

That is not a weakness. That's like saying a BLM's ability to nuke is limited by MP. That's inherent to MP, not to WHM. --Chrisjander 09:01, 2 October 2006 (EDT)
I am in agreement with what Chris said - that has nothing to do with being a White Mage and everything to do with the concept of MP --- plus as a Taru you don't have that problem while as a Galka initially you would. So therefor you would have to incorporate the inadequacies of all the races in this respect as well as the general mp issues. That is like saying the lower hit point pool makes it easier for them to die... I had someone say that to me the other day... he then went on to say that the lvl 50 JSE body peice was the best WHM body piece in the game - needless to say I corrected him on his misinformation and ridiculous opinion. But still... >.<' --Nynaeve 13:35, 2 October 2006 (EDT)

But it is actualy on Black Mage that Damage is limited by MP. Also, I'm curious as to why the edit I made some time ago was just removed by Merin without dissucssion. --Zero 12:53, 2 October 2006 (EDT)

I would rate the BLM mp mention as slightly different. DPS generation has to be mentioned in competition with melee classes that can do damage without having to worry about mp. As the only ways to heal someone else in this game all involve expending mp, I think that it can be left off the whm list but still be considered a blm weakness. --Althorn 18:21, 3 October 2006 (EDT)

"But it is actualy on Black Mage that Damage is limited by MP." Yeah, that's why I said it. Also Whm is in competition with Rdm as a healer at higher levels and rdm in effect has a never ending MP amount with refresh and convert. Similar arguement to the melee classes not having to worry about MP when dealing damage, a rdm doesn't have to worry about MP when curing due to their fast natural MP restoration. P.S A brd can regen you (it's a method of cure) without any MP at all. --Drow 20:55, 2 November 2006 (EST)
