- I think they may only work with the DRK "Absorb" line of spells. I just got my pair last night so I have not been able to do any testing with them yet. --Spops™ t/ c 14:26, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
Any tests yet to see if the gloves apply to Drain and Aspir? Blm forums don't seem to have a solid answer but the mufflers themselves seem to list "Absorb" spells, the capital (I know small detail, maybe its nothing) use seems to point only at the Drk spell line. Absorb spells include:
* Absorb-MND- Steals an enemy's MND. * Absorb-CHR- Steals an enemy's CHR. * Absorb-VIT- Steals an enemy's VIT. * Absorb-AGI- Steals an enemy's AGI. * Absorb-INT- Steals an enemy's INT. * Absorb-DEX- Steals an enemy's DEX. * Absorb-STR- Steals an enemy's STR. * Absorb-TP- Steals an enemy's TP. * Absorb-ACC- Steals an enemy's Accuracy.

I'm not convinced, I macro these in on Drain and Aspir on BLM and they seem to make a difference - using Zenith Mitts (same MAB) I'll Drain for ~250, with these gloves it's closer to 300. What is the boost meant to be anyway? Gorp 13:59, 3 February 2009 (UTC)
Considering BLM and SCH don't have access to Absorb-INT etc., it wouldn't make a lot of sense if they didn't work for drain and aspir... --Blazza 16:32, 28 February 2009 (UTC)
- Why not? The MAB is still useful for them. There's plenty of gear that enhances certain effects and is equippable by jobs that don't have access to them.--Anthoron T/ C 06:18, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
DRK here, we've beaten it to death that MAB has no effect on Drain/Aspir, only Dark Magic Skill. Couldn't call either way if this hand piece would affect Drain/Aspir amounts, but you have to remember that they vary a lot despite gear and 250 now, 300 later, is not a sufficient test to determine anyway (and looks perfectly normal in my book). I drain II'd for 510 after a 2k Spiral Hell once, does that mean Spiral Hell affects drain? No. --Ranzear 05:38, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
