Use in Besieged/Campaign Battle

Since I'm approaching lv. 70 on my Monk and looking forward to beating Maat and hitting 71 for this, I was wondering if this (and any of the other WS Trials weapons) could be used in Campaign Battle or Besieged to get the points? I would imagine not, since you're not gaining experience points in a normal fashion under these circumstances, and the quest requires the weapons use on a EP or higher mob to get it, but I wanted to ask and be sure; if it's possible, then I'll never have to party again! >.> --Snojoex 03:31, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

It appears that Campaign battles do not count towards breaking your trial weapon. I spent plenty of time there and then headed out on a skill up/WS party and actually had to pull out all 300 points before my LE wore off. --itanex 23:05, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

It should be mentioned that while under the effect of level sync below 71, your latent effect will disappear and could be confused with unlocking the weapon.

Testimonials

You don't have to stay on your MNK to fight this mob, and obtain the Key Item. After talking to Oggbi, I enterered the fight area, cleared out the ghost, and leach that were there, and popped the Skeleton.
