Taima Kuniyuki (当麻国行)[]
Info from Wikipedia: Taima Kuniyuki (当麻国行) is the founder of the Taima branch of Yamato province swordsmithing. One of his signed tachi(*) was passed down in the Abe clan, and presently lie in The Society for Preservation of Japanese Art Swords (日本美術刀剣保存協会, Zaidanhōjin Nippon Bijutsu Tōkenhozonkyōkai), Tōkyō.
i.e. The FFXI sword is named after the historical swordsmith.
(*) The tachi has a blade signed with "Kuniyuki" (国行); 69.7 cm length and 1.5 cm curvature, it dates to the Kamakura period, around Shōō era (1288–1293). It is designated as a National Treasure (国宝: kokuhō) of Japan for its cultural significance.
