Mystery solved![]
These earrings activate when in a party with the appropriate job. I have tested this out with 3 different earring/job combos.

Does it work if YOU are that job though? The same way a corsair always gets the job bonus for his own jobs roll?

Nope. Afraid not. You CAN be that job, but it won't trigger unless someone else in pt is the appropriate job.
