Spell casting on NPC

After calling my NPC using a Signal Pearl, I discovered I could cast certain spells on my NPC via the command line. Two examples are Regen (/magic "Regen" Durib) and Erase (/magic "Erase" Durib). I can't do the same via the menu and targeting my NPC using the cursor, but the command line works.

I could not use this command line feature after calling my NPC using the Tactics Pearl. --IBHalliwell 18:36, 10 September 2008 (UTC)

  • for command line it should read /magic "Erase" <ft> or /magic "Regen" <ft> same will apply if the person is a dancer or /dancer /ja "Healing Waltz II" <ft>

Recast time

How do we go about noting the change in the cooldown time for this? It used to have a 24-hour recast timer, now it's down to six. I don't know which update changed this but I'm pretty certain someone might. It is kind of trivia, but I love trivia. To me, it would be important to keep a record. -- Anobi (talk) 21:39, December 8, 2013 (UTC)

The history page[1] gives us an edit history where we can see the item at various points in time. As far as formally keeping track of changes in items, jobs, abilities, etc., we don't do that on the main page, because the changes in FFXI are so frequent and so vast at times that it would clutter the main page, when the primary purpose of this wiki is to be a guide. Keeping the pages as straightforward as possible makes the guide more user-friendly.

You've effectively noted the change here, but because the change is very recent and because the image in the article is outdated, I think that a note on the main page is also appropriate in this case, until some time has passed and the image has been updated.--Blue Donkey Kong (talk) 00:09, December 9, 2013 (UTC)

The change from 20 hours to 6 hours cooldown timer took place on November 4th 2013/November 5th 2013 (North America & Europe) update that was along with qouta kill change from 100 to 200.-- Xelibena
