It looks like the community has been sidetracked by an unsigned comment again. Everything in the initial posted Saber Dance mechanism has been shown to be wrong. Samba?

I was testing this ability out on my dnc today and i have brutal earring for 5% double atk i wanna try again with /war but i seen in the 3hrs i was out their a triple atk go off on one or the other wpn prolly 10 or so times that i NOTICED lol, may of been a glitchy graphic but i doubt it... i wanna test this more later but it looks lie double attack can proc off of the saber dance's double attack or visa~versa. Doesn't appear to "triple attack" proc off Joyeuse's multiple attacks, nor does it appear to stack with the proc-rate on it. Joyeuse + Saber Dance != 95% Double Attack sadly. Captain Kyari 16:49, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

The entire point is that Joyeuse doesn't increase the proc rate, it doesn't "cap off" at 95% because Joyeuse's "attacks twice" doesn't count as double attack and thus doesn't increase the proc rate. Assuming regular double attack stats stack with Saber Dance, you can theoretically hit about 70% proc rate if you sub warrior, wear a brutal earring and eat a Shogun Rice Ball while wearing a Roshi Jinpachi. As far as testing goes, be sure not to wear any Cobra gear, as that small chance to Counter could end up looking like you've "triple attacked".Captain Kyari 16:36, 3 February 2009 (UTC)

I'm pretty sure they mean the joytoy has a 45% proc rate and saber dance has a 50% proc rate...

So, if you don't double attack with the natural joytoy effect, then you still have a 50% chance to double attack with a brutal earring --Shadowhero 07:27, 12 April 2009 (UTC)

Shadow is correct. DA can proc on a joyeuse ONLY if the joyeuse's attacks twice does not, even with Saber Dance on. Assuming a 50% attack twice rate on the joyeuse (For simplicity) you would have a 75% chance to get 2 attacks with Saber Dance freshly applied. 50% of attacks would get attack twice, and then 50% chance to double attack on the rest. I don't know why the main page says Saber dance ignores this rule, as I have never had a 3 attack round with the joyeuse. Quesela 05:35, December 24, 2009 (UTC)

Main pages states both the double attack rate seems to increase over time as well as 10% decrease per minute... Can someone with working knowledge correct one or the other, it is very misleading/confusing.DemRedSolo 16:13, December 11, 2009 (UTC)

I am replacing the notes on proc rate by merit with the numbers calculated below. Every merit does make a significant difference, with later merits accounting for a greater per-merit increase than earlier ones. The DA rate will reset to 50% on use, providing the following ideal rates per usage cycle:

  • 1 merit: 24.00% - (0.5 + 0.4 + 0.3 + 0.2 + 0.1) / 5
  • 2 merits: 26.67% - (0.5 + 0.4 + 0.3 + 0.2 + (0.1 / 2)) / 4.5
  • 3 merits: 30.00% - (0.5 + 0.4 + 0.3 + 0.2) / 4
  • 4 merits: 34.29% - (0.5 + 0.4 + 0.3 + (0.2 / 2)) / 3.5
  • 5 merits: 40.00% - (0.5 + 0.4 + 0.3) / 3

To clarify:

  • With 1 merit, the DA proc rate is 50% for 1 minute, 40% for 1 minute, 30% for 1 minute, 20% for 1 minute, and 10% for 1 minute of the full duration of 5 minutes.
  • With 2 merits, the DA proc rate is the same except for the last term; the 10% proc rate only lasts for 30 seconds, at which point the DNC can re-use the JA to reset the proc rate to 50%. The full duration is therefore 4.5 minutes.

This has been shown to be pretty entirely untrue and leaves me wondering what the source was:

  • Provides 50% double attack rate on first minute and decreases by -10% every minute. Reduction is performed every 60 seconds, not every second.
  • To avoid confusion: The %'s listed below are the cumulative total amount of double attack over the duration of the five-through-three minutes that the JA is active.
    • 1 merit: 24.00%
    • 2 merits: 26.67%
    • 3 merits: 30.00%
    • 4 merits: 34.29%
    • 5 merits: 40.00%

When I can figure out what the right %s and decay mechanism is, I will post it. Those numbers are certainly wrong though.
