the Description shows Slow in it, so unless typo-o in that as well i belive the WS acually induces Slow, i have this WS and it does seem to have same effect as "slow" but can be over-writen with the acual spell. --DK 06:59, 24 September 2008 (UTC)
Use this weaponskill on a poor defenceless bunny or something (make sure it's high enough level to not be one shotted) and do nothing else it. Wait a few minutes and see what wears off. It's gravity. Also run away and see how slowly it moves... it's grav. --Blazza 04:24, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
There are very niche situations where Mordant Rime *should* open light. As far as I can figure, the only weaponskills which it will open light for are Relic weaponskills containing the Light property, but not the Fusion property. For example, Namas Arrow should close light after Mordant Rime, as Distortion -> Distortion, and Distortion -> Light both do nothing, but Fragmentation -> Light should make Light. Others which *should* do this are: Geirskogul, Tachi: Kaiten, and Randgrith. --Ramathorne 19:58, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
I can confirm it is gravity inflicted, and not slow. I adjusted the main page's description to read as it is read in game; but make no mistake, its actually Gravity. SoichiroofRemedy 07:14, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
The text says that its main is Fragmentation, and its sub is Distortion, then doesn't that mean it can close light from a Fusion >> Fragmentation combination? Also it could open light from Fragmentation >> Fusion Orenwald 08:50, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
Mordant Rime build[]
Something like...
<weapons> Iron Ram Horn
Maat's/Heca/AF+1/Relic/OHat Gorget Brutal Delta/Pixie/Melody+1/Minuet
Osode Heca/AF+1 Heaven's/Acc Rajas
Bard's/Jester+1/Forager's Warwolf/Gleeman's Heca/Marduk/Byakko/AF+1/Sha'ir Goliard/Heca/Volunteer/Sha'ir
I'm not sure how Forager's will compare to Jester+1 - 4.15 points of weapon damage (D) vs. 0.75 D and 15 attack

It won't make light with distortion because distortion makes darkness with fragmentation.... It WILL make light with fusion weaponskills.
Mordant Rime Definition[]
Taken from main page: "Perhaps more appropriately, a mordant is an ornament in Baroque and early Classical music that is similar to a trill. A mordant is when the performer moves one tone below the melodic note, trilling "down" once. An inverted mordant is a one-note long trill, going "up".
Rime is an alternate spelling of rhyme, such as in the Rime of the Ancient Mariner."
Mordent (with an E, not an A) is the musical term, so I'm removing this from the main page. Rime is only an archaic and little used spelling of "rhyme", and I'll leave mention of this, but I'll be putting back in the current definition of "an accumulation of granular ice tufts on the windward sides of exposed objects that is formed from supercooled fog or cloud and built out directly against the wind."-Quedari (talk) 04:52, February 12, 2014 (UTC)
