Ok... trying to exp off of these mobs with an alliance didn't work so well. These things are a bitch to fight. AoE sleepga, AoE Stun, and Cyclonic Turmoil just hurts like a bitch. Only thing that you don't have to worry about fighting these are links and aggro. If you do plan to fight these, probably going to need some dedicated healers and a good tank. --Belisarius87 23:38, July 19, 2010 (UTC)

I was able to solo the DC and EM Farfadets as 85THF/40DNC for the quest. --Haxan7 04:24, September 20, 2010 (UTC)

Having a lot of trouble soloing these with BLM/rdm. Could not get Gravity to stick even with Elemental Seal. Was not able to stick Sleep or Break either, during multiple attempts. I can kite them around easily enough, but they like to put up things like Regen III.C --FFXI-Guppy 04:25, October 2, 2010 (UTC)

Farfadets are some of the easiest monsters in all of Abyssea that I've soloed on SMN. Even SMN/WHM (as opposed to SMN/NIN, usually the more competent solo combination for SMN) against a very tough Farfadet isn't hard at all. Like the main page says, they seem to take increased physical damage, and they are really hurt by Predator Claws. You do have to use the Blink/SS kite method, of course; they're not so ridiculous that you can melee them like it's Cape Terrigan. They will kill a few of your avatars and heal themeselves, but compared to just about everything else I've solo farmed in Abyssea (Cluckatrice, Gulch Limule, Ley Clionid, Bog Body, Vermes Carnium, and some more), these are the biggest jokes for me.--Blue Donkey Kong 03:34, October 24, 2010 (UTC)

  • I agree with the above poster to an extent but he wasn't very specific. The Farfadets ranges at Decent Challenge, Even Match, Tough and Very Tough so you have to /check each mob. The Decent Challenge to Tough are an easy fight for an 85Smn/Whm with just NQ staves. 2 to 3 Predator Claws are enough to take them down. However the VT ones can prove to be a good fight and you may be needing that temporary ether and elixer. In my experience the drop rates on scales are horribly low. I intend to come back as Bst with a stack of Dipper Yuly. --Quixacotl-Odin 15:45, November 5, 2010 (UTC)

Spell interrupt rate

these seem to have a huge amount of spell interrupt rate, I've done Jins on DC's for 2500-3000 damage and it still casted through, only once have I, in 3 days of farming these for TE's, interrupted its cast. is it a family trait or just these? --Nattack 02:08, April 13, 2011 (UTC)
