I cannot get these to break Lu Shang's fishing pole. At skill level 85 I have a 25% line break rate and 0% rod break rate over 300 casts. I'll keep fishing them and see if the thing ever breaks... Sabareq 11:22, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

Lu Shang's does break, I've had this happen. biggs641 4:47, 19 February 2009

Yeah I forgot to update this. About a 1% rod break and 25% line breaks at 86 skill with lu shang and meatballs. Sabareq 00:16, 21 February 2009 (UTC)

When I went to skillup on Cherax with Lu/Meatball I cast 421 times, and got 53 Cherax bites (12.6%), 17 rusties (4%), 69 mobs (16.4%) and 282 no catch (67%). Of the Cherax bites, I got 4 0.1 skillups (7.5%) and 19 line breaks (35.8%). I started at 98.7 skill. --Valyana 17:00, 25 February 2009 (UTC)

This has higher fatigue than regular fish (probably true of most "legendary" fish). I had 34 in my inventory when I hit fatigue half an hour after JP midnight. I was fishing at around JP midnight, so some of those fish would be from the previous day's fatigue, assuming it resets then. But they're great for skill-ups at the low 100s. At 103, I am still seeing 0.2 skill-ups. You also get skill-ups for line breaks, which happen a lot, so don't use a lure with Lu Shang's! --Elwynn (talk) 15:55, November 30, 2017 (UTC)

Rotten Meat as bait:

Since this was stared and there happened to be 10 stacks on the AH I wanted to test them out after seeing how well Minnows actually performed. From test results so far, they really are all about the same, since the cherax have a really low bite rate anyway, it's a very marginal difference. Whichever you can get should suit you fine.
