This might be implied, but it would be good to be 100% certain.
Has anyone actually gotten this drop yet? I was in Ron. for about 4hrs, and more than 3/4 of the time i didn't even get a brown casket, and when i did the clues were so crappy i couldn't unlock it. Opened one chest and got a flint stone...
I managed to get it in my first ever brown casket... thought it was a dud item really since I thought it would blind the user. I've had similar problems to you trying to get the Bronze Bandolier from South Gustaberg though, with over 50 successful brown chests and many more fails, blue chests and no chest :( I think it's just luck. --Vuclutout 19:15, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
It does in fact Blind the foe and not the user. I just received this item. Was unable to use it on myself; automatically targeted an engaged or nearby enemy when selected. -Anonymous
Yes, it blinds the enemy, but it's not 100%. I get "You were unable to capture the target's image" half the time? It also never says that the target was blinded. If that message does not play, it just stops at the "xxx used a Blind Ring" and gives me no more text, so I assume it's blinding them. I really don't know how we can tell that it's worked. As useful as the enchantment might be, I am fairly close to just dropping the thing. As a WAR, I get failures about half the time, so it's not that great. At least it gives me the chance to though, when I usually couldn't blind. --Ghrenn 21:25, 24 February 2009 (UTC)
I got this recently by lvling up in ronfaure, and been using it on my 64-65 bst... it kicks in around 90% the time for me, which is pretty awesome... also used on my 75 pld on Alkyneous, and worked on him too :O lil extra blind from non-blind casting jobs = cool for solo --Sidi 19:17, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
How It Works
The message "<Character> fails to capture the target's image" sounds to me like it's a camera of some sort. Meaning it probably blinds the enemy with a flash(bulb).--Snorglepuss (talk) 06:26, December 7, 2018 (UTC)
