So, where's the best place to catch these? Best rod without lu shang/ebisu available? Xyonblade 06:58, 12 February 2009 (UTC)

Anywhere around the central pool should be the same. I tend to fish at the closest place to the Escape point from Oldton. I get about 25% bite rate with lu/sinking minnow. --Valyana 23:14, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

As for rods, expect mostly line snaps/rod breaks without Lu Shang's Fishing Rod/Ebisu Fishing Rod available. If you're hunting this fish or fish like these, you really should have one or both of those rods anyway. --Shrade774 16:36, November 8, 2009 (UTC)

May I ask why these are listed as 103 cap? at level 92 (+4 equip) I'm able to reel in every single of these, while Lik and Gugrusaur are reported to be 100 and I have a 50% line snap, and also some rod break (using Lu Shang's)--Mira el dito 13:01, November 9, 2009 (UTC)

is 103 the right skill cap? Ive cuaght over 250 of these over the past few days without a single skill up(@98 right now).Either its just really really bad luck of cap is lower then 98.has anyone gotten a skill up over 98 on these?XXxCalinaxXx 23:33, November 20, 2009 (UTC)

well scratch that last comment after 350 of these i finaly got a .1 so can confirm cap is at least 100 just realy bad luck i guessXXxCalinaxXx 10:16, November 25, 2009 (UTC)

Personally, I think that the 103 cap listed on the main page should be changed to 100 with 103 being changed to the more appropriately named "fish level" so that this page would match the format of some of the other high-level fish pages out there. (Gerrothorax, Gugrusaurus, Lik, Ryugu Titan)

It's technically impossible for any fish to have a cap above 100 since 100 is the hard cap for our fishing skill, so it's a bit misleading to say that 103 is the cap for this fish rather than matching the format of these other pages.--Erwing 15:41, January 25, 2010 (UTC)

12+ consecutive charges on pelican ring without a skillup. was level cap on these changed? I've been doing these since about 88. I'm at 97.6 now --Brewtus 22:21, May 14, 2010 (UTC)

I started fishing these at level 99. I got skill ups but they were few and far between. I think I went through 18 consecutive charges on my pelican ring before I got the first one. ~Zazhi, sylph

I've been fishing these for at least 2 weeks at level 108 and haven't gotten any skill ups. I think it's fairly safe to say that the current posted skill cap of 108 is correct. I have a friend that's been doing the same thing (only about a week) and has had the same results. Hammy025 11:22, July 21, 2012
