The formula for determining how much damage is absorbed is:

IF ( X < 80 ), THEN ( F = X )

IF ( 80 <= X < 130 ), THEN ( F = 2X-60 )

IF ( 130 <= X ), THEN ( F = 3X-180 )

WHERE X = ( ( Enhancing_Magic_Skill / 3 ) + MND )

Damage absorbed from the spell is capped at 350.

Certain gear adds additional HP to the effect, even if you would normally be capped.

Shedir Seraweels adds 35 damage absorbed when worn by the receiver of the spell.

Stone Gorget adds 30 damage absorbed when worn by the receiver of the spell.

Stone Mufflers adds 30 damage absorbed when worn by the receiver of the spell.

Siegel Sash adds 20 damage absorbed when worn by the receiver of the spell.

Haven Hose adds 20 damage absorbed when worn by the receiver of the spell.

Earthcry Earring adds 10 damage absorbed when worn by the receiver of the spell.
