Stoneskin absorbs a set amount of damage before wearing off. Stoneskin's total bank of damage absorption is a function of the caster's MND and Enhancing Magic Skill. The formula varies on an inflection point calculated by:

$\text{BASE} = {\lfloor \frac{\text{Enhancing Magic Skill}}{3} + \text{MND} \rfloor}$

If BASE < 80, then the damage absorption is equal to the BASE value. If 80 ≤ BASE < 130 then:
${\lfloor (2 * \text{BASE}) - 60 \rfloor}$

If 130 ≤ BASE then:
${\lfloor (3 * \text{BASE}) - 190 \rfloor}$

Stoneskin's total effect is capped at 350 damage.

Stoneskin will not overwrite itself.

The White Magic Stoneskin will overwrite and is not overwritten by the effects of:

• Metallic Body
• Diamondhide
• Earthen Ward
• Stoneskin granted by Cures cast under Afflatus Solace

Equipment which enhances Stoneskin grants a flat bonus to the spell's effect and goes past the natural cap of the spell. It must be worn by the receiver of the spell effect.
