The Starlight Celebration!

From
FINAL FANTASY XI
Dec. 6, 2005 21:00 [PST]

The Starlight Celebration!

Master, Master!
The Starlight Celebration is here again, kupo!

You...you have no idea what I'm talking about?
Well...the Starlight Celebration is...
Well, it's happy and glad and busy and grand.
It's noisy and crazy and fun and then...

<Pant...pant...>
I...I'm so excited I can't think straight, kupo...
In any case, you're going to love it!
It's a great festival, kupo!

Up until now, those red-wearing smilebringers have stolen the show with all their
joyful present-giving and laughter, kupo!

But festivals are moogle territory!
This year, the M.H.M.U. will bring you a Starlight Celebration to remember, kupo!

If those smilebringers are going to win all the children's hearts, then the moogles
will focus on the adventurer population. We have presents galore for you all, kupo!

Except...we've sort of run into a snag, kupo.
As you probably know, adventurers never stay still for very long. They're always off
killing some dragon, or saving the world or something, and you can never pin them
down, kupo.
Even using the incredible crystal ball network of the M.H.M.U., we're finding it
impossible to track every adventurer's movements!

Then we thought, "Who better to find an adventurer than another adventurer?"
We'll employ your services to deliver all the greeting cards we have prepared, which
can then be exchanged for a wonderful gift, kupo!

Hm?
You're telling me those smilebringers manage to deliver their presents all over
Vana'diel in a single night? You must be pulling my bobble, kupo!
You couldn't accomplish that feat with all the airships in Jeuno!
Well, we're not doing this to prove who's better!
This is for the adventurers, so let's all pitch in and make it a great festival, kupo!
  • This event is scheduled to commence after the maintenance on December 12 and will continue until 7:00 (PST) on December 31.
  • Festival decorations will be present from December 12, while greeting card deliveries will begin at 16:00 (PST) on December 15.

Walkthroughs

Dream Robe (Greeting Cards)

  • First you must visit one of the event moogles in any of the three major nations of San d'Oria, Bastok or Windurst. If you accept the "quest," you will be given one of the following greeting cards:
The moogle will then tell you to give it to an adventurer who matches a certain job and level range combination. This level range will always be within ten levels (10-19, 20-29, 30-39, etc.).
(Example: "This card is addressed to a Beastmaster with a level range in the 50s, kupo!" denotes that the next recipient is a Beastmaster who is level 50 to 59.)
  • Note that at any time during this process, you will always be able to speak to an event moogle to remind yourself as to whom a greeting card is addressed to (so long as a card in your possession). If you do not have any cards in your possession, or throw a card away, you will be prompted to accept the quest again, recieving a new card of the same type if you do so.
  • Find an adventurer of the job and level range requested and get them to trade the card to an event moogle (or, if you have that job in that level range, change to the job yourself and trade it). The job and level range on the card will then change and the adventurer will get the card back.
  • Ask the adventurer to return the same card he traded to you. This is important, as even though the card will eventually find its way back to a character with your job or level range, you can't be certain that it will be you who recieves it unless you manage the trades yourself (or three players you trust are within the same level ranges!).
  • Find a second adventurer with the new job and level range requested and get them to trade the card to an event moogle (or, if you have that job in that level range, change to the job yourself and trade it). The job and level range on the card will then change and the adventurer will get the card back. Ask for this card again afterwards.
  • Find a third adventurer with the new job and level range requested and get them to trade the card to an event moogle (or, if you have that job in that level range, change to the job yourself and trade it). The job and level range on the card will then change; the adventurer will then recieve 6 of a certain firework (specific to nation? Brilliant Snows were recieved in Bastok) and told by the moogle that it's getting the present ready.
  • The adventurer will then get the card back. Ask for the card. The moogle will say that the card will have a job and level range specific to one of the jobs you have leveled. If you are not that job at present, change to that job.
  • Trade the card to the moogle yourself. You will obtain your "present," a Dream Robe. Congratulations!

Dream Robe +1 (Greeting Cards)

  • While wearing a Dream Robe, accept the "quest" from an event moogle. It will state that "all of these cards are addressed to people wearing red." This means the people you are trading to this time must also be wearing a Dream Robe (or Dream Robe +1) when they trade the card to a Moogle.
  • This version of the quest is the exact same as the above, save for the stipulation that every adventurer of the job/level range requested must be wearing a Dream Robe (or Dream Robe +1) when trading to the event moogle.
  • Note that players doing the Dream Robe +1 event can also help out people doing the standard Dream Robe event; players doing the standard Dream Robe event, however, may not help out people doing the Dream Robe +1 event.

Dream Hat +1 (Mog House/Smilebringers)

Free Nation-to-Nation Teleports (Smilebringers)

  • To begin, you will need a Dream Hat. These can be purchased from the moogle vendors in Port Bastok, Windurst Waters, and Northern San d'Oria if you don't already have one.
  • Next, talk to a smilebringer to receive a Kiddie Present. You can get one gift every game day.
  • Trade the kiddie presents (fireworks can be used as well) to children anywhere in the city while wearing your Dream Hat to increase your holiday fame.
  • If you talk to the smilebringers again, they will tell you your holiday fame level as well as give you the option to teleport directly to another city.
