Walkthrough

After completely finishing Storms of Fate (which includes returning to the palace in Ru'Lude Gardens for a final, post-battle cutscene), you must then wait until after the next Conquest Tally to activate this quest.

Notes

  • In order to reach the Memory Fluxes on the fourth floor of each Promyvion, one must defeat at least one Memory Recepticle on each floor, as well as cope with the Strays that guard them.
    • Solo:
      • WAR/NIN - No problem with capped Marksmanship using sushi. Acid Bolts will one-shot Strays on the first and second floor, for third floor Holy Bolts work perfectly. Keep shadows up for empty seed and there shouldn't be a problem. With healer NPC can do it without shadows even. Still used /NIN for dual wielding Centurion's Swords, but /MNK would probably be better with a GA.
      • DNC/NIN does fine on the first two receptacles, don't expect /nin to be of any use on the 3rd one. Too many strays, even with capped evasion can be very difficult due to the level cap. HIGHLY suggest you bring a friend or npc at least. NOT fun when you have 6 strays on you at once, and they respawn immediately after you kill them. 'Superior Evasion' amounts to 89 at this level.
      • DNC/NIN - Was able to easily solo on all levels by killing strays first. Keep back to the pillar so you don't get knocked away, focus on the strays to kill them as soon as they pop. Only attack the Receptacle when no strays are attacking you...this will make for a long but relatively safe fight.
      • BLU/NIN - Can easily solo Memory Receptacles and take care of Strays. Decent gear is needed, as well as MP drinks. Cocoon, combined with a Tavnazian Taco almost ensures success due to the high defense bonus. Use Battle Dance and/or Grand Slam to take out Strays as they spawn while auto-attacking and Bludgeon-ing the Memory Recepticle. If you choose to use a spell to target the Strays individually, Feather Storm works better than Head Butt, and can one-shot the Strays even on the higher floors.
      • BLU/DNC - Bring MP-restorative items or drinks that bestow a Refresh effect (such as Yagudo Drinks). Focus on killing Strays as they spawn, and after each is defeated, cast Bludgeon upon the Memory Recepticle, while being mindful of your remaining MP.
      • PUP/WAR - Use a Soulsoother frame for cures.
      • PLD/DNC - Difficult, but possible if you are reasonably well-geared and bring food that raises your defense. Be prepared for lengthy battles against the Memory Receptacles. See Talk Page for details.
      • MNK/DNC - Gear well and focus on Strays, hitting the Memory Recepticle when possible.
      • DNC/NIN - Focus on Memory Recepticle and take advantage of Dancer's superior evasion. After the Memory Recepticle falls, destory the strays.
      • SAM/DNC - Focus on Strays and do all WS on Memory Recepticle
    • Duo:
      • Any two jobs, one of which must be capable of tanking and damaging the Memory Recepticle and enduring the damage from the Strays as they spawn, and another capable of defeating Strays with relative speed.
    • Adventuring Fellow:
      • If you have the quest active that lets you spawn your fellow in Promyvion, doing so will decrease the difficulty of defeating the Memory Recepticles. Be advised that your fellow may only be summoned in Promyvion once every Earth day, and you must wait until Japanese midnight in order to summon again.
