Quick with a blade as well as an incantation, the Rune Fencer is a versatile duelist that employs the power of arcane runes to sway the tide of battle both offensively and defensively. This fighter excels in magical defense and elemental resistance, allowing this stalwart defender to protect his or her allies.

A Rune Fencer can unleash either offensive or defensive energies depending on the abilities they use. These abilities are affected by the runes they've harbored using Rune Enchantment. The number of runes a Rune Fencer may harbor increases as they level.

  • Wards are abilities that reduce elemental damage, increase the rune fencer's defensive prowess, and do not require the expenditure of harbored runes to activate.
  • Effusions are abilities that add elemental damage to attacks and increase the rune fencer's offensive prowess, but harbored runes must be expended to activate them.

  • Battuta: This Job Ability increases your parry rate and deals counter damage on parry, depending on harbored runes. Each additional level increases parry rate by 4% and counter damage by for per harbored rune.
  • Rayke: This Job Ability decreases the magic evasion and resistance ranks of its target depending on harbored runes. Each additional level increases the duration of this effect by 3 seconds.
  • Inspiration: Adds 10% Fast Cast effect to Vallation and Valiance per level.
  • Sleight of Sword: Grants a maximum 5 Subtle Blow per level during the effects of Swordplay.

  • Rune Enchantment: Increase potency of runes harbored by 1 point per rank.
  • Odyllic Subterfuge Effect: Reduces Magic Atk. Bonus of target by 2 per rank while under the effects of Odyllic Subterfuge.
  • Vallation Duration: Increases the effect duration of Vallation and Valiance by 1 second per rank.
  • Swordplay Effect: Increases the maximum amount physical accuracy and physical evasion may be raised by Swordplay by 1 per rank.
  • Swipe Effect: Increases damage dealt with Swipe and Lunge by 1% per rank.
  • Embolden Effect: Increases the effect of enhancing magic gained via Embolden by 1% per rank.
  • Vivacious Pulse: Increase the amount of HP restored through the divine magic skill when Vivacious Pulse is used by 1% per rank.
  • One For All Duration: Increases the effect duration of One for All by 1 second per rank.
  • Gambit Duration: Increases the effect duration of Gambit by 1 second per rank.
