Players starting the game as a Red Mage receive an Onion Dagger and a scroll of Dia.

Red Mages (RDM) are called the Jack of All Trades by many for their abilities to cast White Magic, Black Magic, and fight with swords and daggers. Though their healing, nuking, and fighting skills aren't as good as those of the specialists - White Mages, Red Mages, and Warriors - they are still competent. Their real strengths lie in their mastery of enhancing and enfeebling skills when within a party, and leveraging their many "trades" against their enemies when outside of one.

  • Stymie Effect: Increases the effect duration of enfeebling magic spells by 1 second per rank while under the effects of Stymie.
  • Convert Effect: Reduces the amount of HP consumed by 1% per rank when using Convert.
  • Magic Accuracy Bonus: Increases magic accuracy by 1 per rank.
  • Composure Effect: Increases physical accuracy by 1 per rank while under the effects of Composure.
  • Magic Atk. Bonus: Enhances Magic Atk. Bonus by 1 per rank.
  • Saboteur Effect: Increases magic accuracy by 2 per rank while under the effects of Saboteur.
  • Enfeebling Magic Duration: Increases enfeebling magic effect duration by 1 per rank.
  • Quick Magic Effect: Reduces MP consumption by 2% per rank while under the effects of Quick Magic, including Chainspell and Spontaneity.
  • Enhancing Magic Duration: Increases enhancing magic effect duration by 1 second per rank.
