Derivations[]
- Pteroslaver: A portmanteau exclusive to Vana'diel consisting of ptero- from the Ancient Greek, a combining form meaning 'wing' or 'feather', and slaver from the Medieval Latin sclāvus and hence Middle English sclave - from the context, most likely a contraction of enslaver, one who enslaves, in reference to the dragon's subservient bond created by its master.
