Historical Background[]

Ogopogo (also known as Naitaka) is a famous cryptid lake monster, similar to Champ or the Loch Ness Monster, said to live in Lake Okanagan in British Columbia, Canada. Reported sightings date back as far as the late 19th century and the creature is considered a local celebrity of sorts, similar to other lake monsters.

Ogopogo was first featured in the Final Fantasy series in the Square game Final Fantasy IV, as a sub-boss in the Lunar Subterrane zone.
