Walkthrough

  • Examine the door to enter the battlefield.
  • Six (6) players are permitted to enter one battle, with a 30 minute time limit and there is no level restriction.
  • Buffs granted by spells and abilities will wear upon entry. Item-based buffs and food will not.
  • No EXP is lost on death.
  • Any player can join, including those that do not have an Omnis stone or even the expansion.
  • Players repeating this mission will not receive the Ebon Key unless they have the Omnis stone prior to entering the battlefield.
  • The Omnis stone is used upon entry. If you fail the fight, you will need to repeat the previous mission to re-obtain an Omnis stone.
    • Note: As of the March 2010 update, players who have beaten the add-on scenario can purchase an Omnis stone without climbing Delkfutt's tower again.

The Battle

Ode of Life Bestowing Strategies and discussion.
  • The fight is against the Seed Crystal. The Seed Crystal remains stationary in the center of the battlefield. It has approximately 25,000 HP.
  • It is possible to avoid the AoE attacks by standing near the entrance or in the corners of the room. The Seed Crystal's attacks have a maximum distance of 17 yalms.
  • The Seed Crystal is not affected by Sneak Attack.
  • It possesses low evasion. Melee-burn parties recommended to focus on attack rather than accuracy.
  • Resistant to most enfeebling effects, such as Slow and Silence.
  • Is susceptible to the spell, Stun, but can build resistance over time. As of 90 cap, Head butt stuns it as well.
  • Repeatedly uses Draw In on the player at the top of its hate list, regardless of distance.
  • Uses Area of Effect Charm which turns any players within range into a Mandragora and resets those players' hate.
  • The Seed Thralls have extremely low HP, but moderate attack and access to most weapon skills; it is recommended to take them out immediately.
  • It is possible to Reraise and recover in this battlefield. However, the Seed Crystal can regenerate to 100% HP within one minute, and reraising within its agro radius will put all living players on its hate list.
  • Tractor is not permitted in this battlefield.
  • You may not escape from the Battlefield by clicking on the exit door.
  • Solo'able by BST's at lvl 99 using Bloodclaw Shasra and useing Charged Whisker when theres 2 or more (cause of the long recast)clones on the field, use reward and alot of mulsums to keep the pet alive, (Maybe 10-15 mulsums and 3-5 Pet Food Zeta Biscuit or higher

Reacquisition

  • Turn in the Ebon Key previously received and wait the next Japanese midnight.
    • If the key is in your inventory, you will not be able to start the battle, and the Omnis stone will not be consumed when entering.
  • Repeat the acquisition of the Omnis stone.
  • Drop your current body armor. This can be done at any time before entering the battlefield.
  • Repeat the fight in Stellar Fulcrum to receive a new Prismatic Key.
  • Talk to the coffer in Tenshodo and turn in the Prismatic Key.
  • Reselect your reward.

Game Script

Ode of Life Bestowing - Stellar Fulcrum
Seed Crystal: Fools! You truly believe you can escape your destiny!?

Seed Crystal: This is the will of the crystal! That which gives life, may take it away.

Seed Crystal: Now look upon the destruction of your beloved Vana'diel!

Aldo: The will...of the crystal!?

Aldo: Giver of life? Hah!

Aldo: Don't make me laugh! You're nothing but a twisted shadow!

Aldo: A perverse echo born of my sister's nightmare... A nightmare whose time has long since passed.

Seed Crystal: Silence!

Seed Crystal: You know naught of which you speak. The destiny which you would deny was prophesied long before your world came to be.

Seed Crystal: The door to paradise shall open...

Seed Crystal: And Vana'diel shall return to the darkness from which it was born.

Seed Crystal: The tides of fate will not be turned by the likes of you.

Aldo: Damn!

Seed Crystal: This...this light...it is...

Seed Crystal: Impossible! The ancient echo resounds through time and space... The Seed Crystal radiates the primordial light of creation!

Seed Crystal: They cannot be extinguished by the likes of--

Seed Crystal: But how...? This...is the power of the anitphon?

Seed Crystal: This is the lifeforce... of Altana's children...?

As the legend began, so too does it end...
with a stone.

In ages past, the Dawn Goddess,
stricken with grief, sought to restore life
to her fallen beloved by bestowing unto him
the light of the true crystal.

The crystal shattered, and in the bodies of
countless mortals the Twilight God was reborn.

The crystal's holy light extinguished evermore,
Paradise was no longer, and a new world of
mortals was birthed in its stead.

That world was called Vana'diel.

Mathilde: Aldo...?

Mathilde: Could it truly be you, Aldo? My brother...

Mathilde: Aldo, can you hear me? Please... Open your eyes...

Aldo: Emeline...

Mathilde: Aldo... But this is only a dream, isn't it?

Mathilde: A fleeting illusion that will vanish without a trace before I wake to the light of a new day.

Mathilde: I will carry on with my other life, with no memory of who I once was... With no memory of you, nor what you mean to me...

Mathilde: Why must this be, Aldo? I don't want to leave you again.

Aldo: Nor do I, Emeline. And yet, even if we never meet again as brother and sister..

Aldo: Just the knowledge that you still live, under the same sun and stars in this world of Vana'diel...

Aldo: Somehow, that's enough.

Mathilde: Farewell...Aldo...

And so it was that this chapter of
the legend drew to a close...
But even now, in a far corner of the world...
Another, yet untold chapter of the legend...
Another verse of the ancient song is being woven...
By a child of the past--
one who has not abandoned her dream...
But as one bright star shines through the clouds at night...
And as one song rings clear above the roar of beasts...
A vast ocean of glittering crystals illuminates
the midnight sky, a cosmic wind carrying their
light through time and space.
Shine forth, star of hope!
Let your song ring out across all of Vana'diel!

And then one day,
in a time to come...
What was split asunder will once more become whole,
complete and inseparable for all eternity.
That world was called Vana'diel.
Never to be forgotten...
Vana'diel.
