Historical Background

All imbued cells used in Salvage are named after various cloud formations.

Nimbus is Latin for “rain-bearing”. It is modified as a prefix or suffix to denote rain-bearing clouds (e.g. cumulonimbus, nimbostratus), clouds that provide steady to heavy rain.

Nimbus also refers to a halo, both in artistic depiction (e.g. on paintings or murals, surrounding the head of a figure) or in nature (e.g. a halo around the sun or the moon). For an image of a natural halo, follow the link [1]
