Walkthrough

Ro'Maeve

Chamber of Oracles

  • Go to D-12 of Western Altepa Desert via a tunnel from D-11 and enter the Quicksand Caves. Sneak is needed throughout this area. You enter at J-11, follow a path to a door with a switch circle at I-9. This is a weight controlled door, the door needs either 1 Galka, 3 Tarutaru, or 2 of any other race standing in the center of the circle to open the door.
    • The door may also be opened with a combination of a Tarutaru and either an Elvaan, Hume, or Mithra.
  • At the T-intersection ahead turn left, go to H-7 and open another weight-operated door.
  • Keep going and fall down to the lower sand level. Now stay to the left and you will eventually enter the Chamber of Oracles.
  • After another short Cut-scene you will obtain the key item: Ancient Verse of Altepa

Temple of Uggalepih

  • An alternative way to get to this room is to do a BCNM fight in the Sacrificial Chamber and do not exit the BC before the reward chest is opened; the Verse room is just past the exit room.
  • From the main entrance to the temple, hug the right wall until you zone back into Yhoator Jungle {exit @ F-5, "dark marker #2" on map1 Temple of Ugg.}. Re-enter at "dark marker #3" by hugging the left wall. Keep in mind that Invisible is needed throughout the temple in case anyone is low level enough to aggravate the monsters in the area.
  • Once inside {Map 2 of Temple of Ugg}, head to (E-8) where you will find a Granite Door. The Uggalepih Key will open the door a few seconds for anyone to pass through.
  • Once through, the door can also be opened from the inside.

Full Moon Fountain

  • NOTE: Only characters that are currently on this mission, or have previously completed it (regardless of current allegiance), are able to enter the battlefield.
  • A party of 70-75 is recommended but not essential for a safe fight. (see testimonials)
  • BLM75/RDM37 SMN85/WHM42 SMN66/WHM33 trio it without major problems.
  • There are two phases in the fight. First, the 4 Ace Cardians:
  • On the second phase you will encounter:
  • Ajido-Marujido will also appear on the second phase to fight along with you.
    • If Ajido-Marujido is defeated then you will fail and eject from the BC.
  • After the fight return to Heavens Tower and examine the Vestal Chambers twice to get two Cut-scenes to complete the mission, the Windurst storyline, and to receive your reward of 100k and the Windurstian Flag.
  • NOTE: You must have an empty space in your inventory in order to receive the Windurstian Flag. If your inventory is full at the time, you will not rank up. If this happens, zone out of Heavens Tower and go back to the Vestal Chambers door.

Tips & Tricks

  • Buffs are removed when entering except for food and Finishing Moves.
  • The fight can be duoed by a sleeper/healer (RDM) and fighter/blink tank (THF/NIN or NIN).
  • A common battle plan used is to have someone sleep all 4 then have your tank pick 1 by 1 in this order Ace of Batons(BLM)->Ace of Coins(RDM)->Ace of Swords(PLD) then stop and rest until full. When everyone is ready attack the Ace of Cups(WHM).
  • The Ace cardians can be Silenced and Slept.
  • After the 4 Ace's are defeated and the Manticore and Wyvern spawn, Ajido-Marujido will also appear but he will not engage until you do, or after about 2 minutes has passed.
  • NOTE: Ajido-Marujido will then openly run out and engage one of the two NMs so take caution if you intend to rest. Also Ajido-Marujido is considered a member of your party therefore Scholar's Accession will also include him. If you have a Scholar, Accession Stoneskin/Phalanx him just in case.
  • Let Ajido-Marujido pick the one he wants to kill first. Have everyone but one person kill the first mob while the one person kites the other monster. The monsters will not aggro until you reenter the fight area. Though the monsters spawn far apart, they will both aggro.
  • NOTE: Tatzlwurm can one-shot Ajido with a TP move at the start of the fight if Ajido is the first to attack and chooses the wyvern. Be careful!
  • Make sure the healer keeps Ajido's health up as if he dies you lose the mission. Ajido will cast ancient magic spells and tier 3 and 4 nukes, and as such, he can pull hate quite easily. Ajido will warp around the arena making it hard to keep track of him, on top of this, he dies in 3 or 4 hits, so make sure to stick tight to him.
  • Ajido can use Chainspell towards the end of the fight.
  • Ajido has around 500-600 HP. A Cure IV will restore well over 50% of his health.
  • Yali frequently casts Slowga on the party.
  • Be sure to bring Echo Drops to remove Silence from Tatzlwurm's Radiant Breath.
  • If duoing the fight, it is recommended to kite Tatzlwurm using Gravity and Bind, while the other person solos Yali. Beware that both Gravity and Bind may resist and/or wear off very quickly.
  • The wyvern (and possibly the manticore) either cannot be slept or is highly resistant, so plan accordingly. Tests have shown sleep to be resisted even with the use of Elemental Seal.

Moon Reading (pt.1) - Heavens Tower
Semih Lafihna: ......

Semih Lafihna: ...Player name.

Semih Lafihna: You’ve received the mission briefing?

Semih Lafihna: The situation has become volatile. The Yagudo are screaming that Windurst has broken one of the clauses of the peace treaty.

Semih Lafihna: There is a passage in the treaty that states the central magic tower in West Sarutabaruta shall not be reactivated without the prior agreement of both parties.

Semih Lafihna: Apparently it did not escape the beady eyes of the Yagudo when Ajido-Marujido awoke the tower using the Mana Orbs.

Semih Lafihna: Now they’re demanding we give them control of the Horutoto Ruins to make amends for our break in faith.

Semih Lafihna: It’s obvious those feather devils want to establish a base rrright under Windurst’s nose, but it’ll be a cold day in Kazham before I ever let something like that happen...

Semih Lafihna: ......
In any event, the rescue of the Star Sibyl comes first and foremost. Let us go and meet with Ajido-Marujido.

Ajido-Marujido: ...

Apururu: Semih Lafihna...

Semih Lafihna: Apururu!?
If you’re here, then you must have...

Apururu: ...Yes.
I heard from my dear brother...of the fate that has befallen the Star Sibyl...

Apururu: The Manustery is responsible for all of this! I mustaru apologize to you, Semih Lafihna... To the Star Sibyl... To everyone...

Semih Lafihna: Raise your head, Apururu. This is not your fault.

Semih Lafihna: I was the one who took the Star Sibyl down to the Full Moon Fountain while unknown terrors stalked the shadows. I accept full responsibility.

Apururu: Semih Lafihna...

Ajido-Marujido: That "terror" is not unknown to us.

Ajido-Marujido: The bearer of darkness is mostaru likely the resurrected Karaha-Baruha.

Semih Lafihna: What are you saying!?

Ajido-Marujido: ...The research left here was extremely thorough. A perfectaru theory that surpassed all other systems of magic to stand at the pinnacle of achievement.

Ajido-Marujido: Karaha-Baruha succeeded in his "complete summoning" and dominatarued the will of the Great Beast, Fenrir.

Ajido-Marujido: However, that spirit was too vast for any one person’s body to contain, the energy too intense. Fenrir was dragged into the abyss of death along with Karaha-Baruha.

Ajido-Marujido: And now the deceased have returned...
The "bearer of darkness" is an incarnation that contains the spirit of both Karaha-Baruha, and the Great Beast.

Semih Lafihna: A shared existence...

Apururu: And that is why Joker has taken control of the Full Moon Fountain. But why hold the Star Sibyl captive?

Semih Lafihna: For revenge!?

Semih Lafihna: If, as you say, part of the bearer of darkness is the Great Beast, it must blame the Star Sibyl for its death.

Semih Lafihna: Was its hate for the Star Sibyl what brought it to Heavens Tower...?

Ajido-Marujido: Of that, we can’taru be certain. When Joker’s wish is fulfilled and the bearer of darkness returns to the Full Moon Fountain, there is no telling what will happen.

Ajido-Marujido: However, to keep the Star Sibyl from harm, we mustaru do as Joker requests.

Semih Lafihna: But how?

Semih Lafihna: There is no way we can force the bearer of darkness to return to the fountain. It comes and goes in the blink of an eye, and our attacks are completely ineffective against it.

Ajido-Marujido: Leave that to me. There is one method of luring the part that is Fenrir back to the Full Moon Fountain.

Ajido-Marujido: This method entails using the song of the ancient Kuluu that is mentioned in the Book of the Gods. The Kuluu had apparentaruly forged a pact with the avatars.

Ajido-Marujido: The three verses of the song are kept in three separate ruins...

Ajido-Marujido: Player name, we need you to travel to Ro’Maeve, the Chamber of the Oracles, and the Temple of Uggalephi to collect those verses.

Ajido-Marujido: I don’taru know what form they will take, but they should at leastaru be recognizable as a legacy left for succeeding generations.

Ajido-Marujido: Semih Lafihna, go to Chieftainess Perih Vashai and explain the situation.

Ajido-Marujido: If something should happen to the Star Sibyl, the Tarutaru will completaruly lose their marbles, not to mention their will to fight.

Ajido-Marujido: And you can bet the Yagudo will choose that exactaru moment to attack. Windurst will be annihilated before you can spit outaru "deranged, drooling dhalmels"...

Ajido-Marujido: The Mithra must be ready to take the front line in such a battle. Your strength and prowess will be sorely needed, Semih Lafihna.

Semih Lafihna: ...I understand. I will confer with Chieftainess Perih Vashai and prepare for a Yagudo attack.

Semih Lafihna: But do your utmost to make sure that such an attack doesn’t happen, Minister Ajido-Marujido...

Ajido-Marujido: And lastaruly...
Apururu, we were talking about the possibility of disabling the Cardians. Can it really be done?

Apururu: ...Yes, I believe it can. If the mana orbs within the Cardians are struck with a strong enough blasty-wast of the Stars and the Moon, their motive systems will be disruptarued.

Apururu: This disruption will only last a short while, but during that time they will be completely doozy-woozy and unable to act.

Ajido-Marujido: A sliver-wiver of time in which to rescue the Star Sibyl...

Ajido-Marujido: But where do we find such a source of power? And will you be capable of wielding it?

Apururu: Don’t worry about me, dear brother! I learned a few things while you were lostaru to us!

Ajido-Marujido: Hrmph. Taught a few black arts by a certain Tarutaru is more like it.

Apururu: No...nothing like that! Rightaru, I must be going!

Ajido-Marujido: Don’t go hurting yourself, Apururu.

(Something just doesn’t make sense...)

(Karaha-Baruha... How could a genius like you not realize the art of complete summoning would rob you of your life?)

(...But if...)

(But if you had foreseen that outcome, what if you had predictarued this entire scenario...?)

Ajido-Marujido: Player name!

Semih Lafihna: ...You made it back in time.

Ajido-Marujido: Player name is no ordinary adventurer, Semih Lafihna.

Semih Lafihna: So it would seem.

Ajido-Marujido: We’ve been waiting for you. Actually, we were slightly worried you wouldn’t be able to gather all the verses before the show started.

Ajido-Marujido: While you’ve been out hop-popping all over the place, we’ve had a message from the King of the Yagudo announcing the imminentaru abolishment of the peace treaty.

Semih Lafihna: You realize what this means, don’t you? Abolishing the peace treaty is akin to a declaration of war.

Semih Lafihna: If we don’t send a reply surrendering control of the Horutoto Ruins within the period stated, we can consider ourselves at war with the Yagudo. Very little time remains to us...

Ajido-Marujido: And to Joker’s lifespan as well, I should imagine...

Semih Lafihna: ...What do you mean by that?

Ajido-Marujido: A doll only lives a certain amountaru of time corresponding to the amountaru of magic its creator poured into it during creation.

Ajido-Marujido: I asked the children at the port about the date of Joker’s resurrection. I did some calculations...

Ajido-Marujido: And from what the results tell me, it would seem that Joker’s clock will soon tick its last tock. Joker is probably also well aware of his predicamentaru.

Semih Lafihna: Just a moment, Ajido-Marujido. What does the time remaining to Joker have to do with the deadline given to us by the Yagudo?

Ajido-Marujido: The Cardians and the Yagudo have some kind of deal going on. You really should have noticed it by now.

Ajido-Marujido: Think about the incidentaru where the talisman was stolen from the Chamber of Light. That room can only be opened by myself, a Cardian, or a representative of Heavens Tower.

Ajido-Marujido: To top it off, this treaty business comes at the worstaru possible time for us.

Ajido-Marujido: Either they know that the Star Sibyl is missing, or that Windurst is particularly vulnerable right now...

Semih Lafihna: Are you saying that the Star Sibyl has fallen into the Yagudo’s talons!?

Ajido-Marujido: No, no. Think about it. If that was the case they wouldn’taru have given us a deadline. The Yagudo are simply waiting for Joker to expire.

Ajido-Marujido: This is justaru speculation on my part, but I would say relations between the Yagudo and the Cardians wentaru decidedly downhill after Joker took up the Cardian crown.

Semih Lafihna: ...But wait! That doesn’t make any sense! Does this mean Joker is friend or foe, good or evil...?

Ajido-Marujido: It’s entirely possible that he is neither friend nor foe.

Ajido-Marujido: Appearing at night, and fading during the day... Justaru like the will of the Great Beast...

Apururu: Ajido-Marujido! It’s ready at lastaru!

Apururu: We didn’t have time to test it, but I had the help of three professors! It should work perfectaruly!

Ajido-Marujido: Hrm. With three professors helping you, there’s little chance of it not working. It’s the chance that they were a little over-enthusiastic that worries me...

Ajido-Marujido: Well, we’ve done everything that we can.

Ajido-Marujido: There’s little pointaru to sitting around imagining what’s going to happen. Only time will tell.

Ajido-Marujido: The momentaru has come!
To the Full Moon Fountain!

Moon Reading (pt.1) - Full Moon Fountain
Ajido-Marujido: ...!

Semih Lafihna: ...Star Sibyl!!!

Ajido-Marujido: Joker!

Ajido-Marujido: We have broughtaru together the verses that bind the Great Beast and the ancient people!

Ajido-Marujido: With this song, the bearer of darkness will be drawn here from any distance.

Ajido-Marujido: We have grantarued your wish. Now return to us the Star Sibyl!

Joker: ...The ancient people...
You speak of the Kuluu...

Joker: Very well. You may approach. Let us have Player name play the song.

Ajido-Marujido: Player name, the rest is up to you. No mattaru what happens, you must protect the Star Sibyl.

Joker: ...Player name. Our guiding star.
You have braved much to reach this point.

Joker: You have navigated a galaxy of stars to bring light to the land of hope.

Joker: It was the wish of the Star Sibyl that began this epic tale. But it is you who must realize the truth.

Joker: It was your will that led us to this moment...

Joker: Your brilliant incandescence will show the way. Call the Stars and the Moon to this place once more.

Joker: ...You have come.

Joker: We who have been divided...

Joker: Will become whole once more...

Ajido-Marujido: ...Th-this...!?
This is...summoning magic...!?

Un*GH...!
Un*GH...!

Moon Reading (pt.2) - Full Moon Fountain
Joker: Enough! You will cease this...!

Apururu: Be still, my children!

Moon Reading (pt.3) - Full Moon Fountain
Ajido-Marujido: Player name, we've done it! He's been weakened enough...

Ajido-Marujido: Dammitaru, the Cardians are waking up!

Joker: ...You have nothing to fear. My divided self no longer has the power to control them.

Joker: I leave the rest in your hands. Star Sibyl, when we have all joined as one, I will have a new promise from you...

Joker: A new wish. A wish made to the Stars and Moon that illumine the heavens.

Star Sibyl: I understand...Great Beast...

Semih Lafihna: ...What is going on...!?

Apururu: The spirits of the Cardians... They're merging together...!?

Ajido-Marujido: ...!
Star Sibyl! Joker, he's...!

Star Sibyl: The light...
A star of hope will be born from that radiance...

Star Sibyl: Stars and the Moon, heed my wish...

Star Sibyl: Bless this land with the protection of Fenrir...

...The people of Vana'diel. They are the force that will shape the future.

Moon Reading (pt.3) - Heavens Tower
Ajido-Marujido: Player name.

Ajido-Marujido: The Star Sibyl is resting.
The ceremony at the Full Moon Fountain has drained her. It will probably be some time before she recovers.

Ajido-Marujido: Along with Joker, all of the Cardians that were in that place have returned to nothing more than ordinary puppets.

Ajido-Marujido: The power of the Stars and the Moon that was stored in their Mana Orbs, the small amountaru of that same energy left in the fountain, and the magic of the Star Sibyl's Diza Star...

Ajido-Marujido: All of it was consumed to revive the Great Beast, Fenrir.

Ajido-Marujido: That is the Moon Reading...
The power to grantaru wishes.

Ajido-Marujido: It may take some time until Fenrir is back to his legendary strength, however...

Ajido-Marujido: Windurst has regained the protection of the Stars and the Moon. Our fair land will once again be visitarued by serene, twinkling evenings and peaceful dreams.

Semih Lafihna: Ajido-Marujido.
Player name.

Ajido-Marujido: Semih Lafihna. You're back. I bet those Yagudo were screeching for blood.

Semih Lafihna: Yes, that's why I went to slap them across their collective beaks with their "rrrevisions."

Semih Lafihna: Now that the Great Beast is back, they won't be trying to get their filthy talons on the Horutoto Ruins.

Ajido-Marujido: They're a careful bunch, that's for sure. Now that the Ace Cardians are gone, we can assume they'll hold back on abolishing the peace treaty as well.

Ajido-Marujido: But you know they won'taru give up on the ruins that easily.

Semih Lafihna: That is true. But we no longer have any reason to cower from them...

Semih Lafihna: The Star Sibyl has been freed...
...Isn't that right, Ajido-Marujido?

Ajido-Marujido: She has found us a new guiding star.

Ajido-Marujido: It's strange, but I feel like I've been freed as well... Freed from the spell Karaha-Baruha had over me.

Ajido-Marujido: It was almostaru as if I was having my strings pulled by the research left behind by the great genius...

Ajido-Marujido: My theory is that he had predictarued a talented mage like myself would come to prominence after his death.

Apururu: You flattaru yourself, dear Brother. Karaha-Baruha was more likely aware that a naive, shory-wort-tempered wizard like you would come along eventually.

Ajido-Marujido: What's with you, Apururu? You've got a smartaru mouth on you today.

Ajido-Marujido: Things never would've gotten this bad if you wishy-washy slowpokes at the Manustery had done something about the rogue Cardians earlier.

Apururu: Hmph. Keep talking to me like that, and you'll never get your Orastery ring back.

Ajido-Marujido: Ah, finally. Without that ring, I can'taru get into the Minister's Chambers. Not being able to get into my own room is going to do wonders for my reputation as a formitable spell-slinger!

Semih Lafihna: Player name, what was it that Joker said to you?
"It was your will that led us to this moment."

Semih Lafihna: It was your resolution that brought a new beginning for a Windurst that had lost its future.

Semih Lafihna: Where will your determination take you next, I wonder?

Semih Lafihna: Your actions could affect all of us here in Windurst--and those across the breadth of Vana'diel. What do you want to accomplish?

Semih Lafihna: ...Hehehe. There's no need to answer that. The time will come when your determination will bring the answers you need.

Ajido-Marujido: If you need any more work, come on over to the Orastery. We have the budgetaru to employ one or two more people for experimental purposes.

Ajido-Marujido: There are a few spells I learned from the Book of the Gods that I've been dying to try. I guarantee it will be a fascinataruing experience.

Apururu: And you could lend us a hand to bring in all the roguey-wogue Cardians still wandering around in the Horutoto Ruins. See you soon, adventurer!

Semih Lafihna: It's time I should be going as well. Don't forget to visit the Star Sibyl before you leave.

Semih Lafihna: Before taking her rest, she mentioned she wanted to talk with you.

Semih Lafihna: Well, Player name.
Until the day we once again fight side by side, may the fire in your eyes never fade...

Moon Reading (pt.4) - Heavens Tower
Star Sibyl: Player name...

Star Sibyl: I am glad to see you are well. We have not spoken since the events at the fountain, and I have been concerned for you.

Star Sibyl: The words of the Great Beast found their way to your heart as well, I am sure.

Star Sibyl: Fenrir has promised a new beginning for Windurst.

Star Sibyl: But it is only a beginning. With the loss of the Diza Star’s power, I can no longer perform the Moon or Star Readings...

Star Sibyl: I can no longer foresee what fate awaits our dear Windurst. The star that was there to guide me is no more...

Star Sibyl: But do not worry for me, Player name. I will strive onwards.

Star Sibyl: Thanks to you, I have found the path that I must take.

Star Sibyl: I am governed by the citizens of Windurst. My role lies in finding the way that provides for their happiness.

Star Sibyl: ...Player name. You, too, are a citizen of Windurst. And one of the brightest stars that lights my way.

Star Sibyl: Let us walk that path together. Away from all that has ended and towards everything that has begun...

We will lead Windurst onwards to a new future.

Moon Reading - Windurst Walls
The Federation of Windurst...

An ancient captial nurtured by the boughs
of a great tree blessed by magical waters,
and protected by the moon and stars.

There is a legend in this country.
In a time forgotten, a people forced to
wander by starvation and cold were led
to this land by a wondrous star.

When that star returned to the heavens, it
sent to the earth a spiritual medium, the
first Star Sibyl, who could hear its voice.
She promised Windurst glory and prosperity.

An age passed, and a time of destruction
drew near. The moon fell into shadow, the
stars grew silent, and the people lost
their way.

Those who found the light again were those
who knew themselves. Those who knew
courage. Those who knew justice. Those
who knew truth.

And then there came one whose
determination would create a new future.
That radiance would be as a beacon for
all that lay ahead.

Once again, a star of hope has
been born to this earth...

A new tale will begin here, woven by
the myriad stars of this universe...
