Historical Background[]
In Christian demonology (Late Medieval- Early Modern European), Gamygyn (also spelled Gamigin, Samigina) is a demon with the rank of Great Marquis of Hell, commanding 30 legions of demons. Gamygyn appears in the form of a small horse or donkey which speaks with a hoarse voice (it's a hoarse horse), but can turn into a human on conjurer's request. He can teach the conjurer all the liberal sciences and give accounts from the lives of dead souls who died in sin. Gamygyn is 1 of 72 demons listed in the Ars Goetia (the first section of the Lesser Key of Solomon), but is not found in the Pseudomonarchia Dæmonum.
