Notes:

  • Spawned by trading a Filthy Gnole Claw to the ??? at G-11.
  • Call of the Moon has very potent intimidation effect similar to Alpha Gnole Anders.
    • Intimidation rate seems to increase as his HP goes down.
    • Ranged attack and Avatars are not affected by the intimidation effect.
    • Call of the Moon seems to trigger a hate reset or huge hate loss.
  • Has En-stun effect on normal attacks. Not 100%
    • The processing rate for his added effect: stun actually seems quite low. We attempted a Ramuh burn with the assumption that Ramuh's near-100% Resist Stun would be a great help, but after seeing Ramuh deal underwhelming damage, we switched to Garuda, who was almost never stunned even with no resistance.
  • Fevered Pitch does very high damage on low defense players, up to 700+DMG, ignores shadows and can be used back-to-back as HP gets lower. It also seems to dispel one random buff.
  • It is possible to obtain the Key Item Atma of the Baying Moon upon death.
  • The Key Item Lugarhoo's eyeball is only is obtained by players who have the quest An Eye for Revenge active and can not be obtained without it. Upon quest completion will reward NPC will award Scarlet Abyssite of Furtherance
  • Weakness: Large Blue !! from Either Arching arrow or Thunder III. Not sure which. Fairly sure it was arching arrow though.Unsure of what it dropped because of wipe
  • Has less HP than the surrounding Luisons
  • Avatars are a good strategy; however, a low-man Summoner attempt did not succeed with 4 SMNs, a PLD/NIN, and a SAM/RNG. Lugarhoo's HP and defense are very high, so having 6 Summoners minimum would be a better choice for a Summoner burn of this NM. As noted earlier, his added effect: stun is almost a non-issue, so using Garuda is highly recommended over Titan or Ramuh.
  • Did this as Nin/dnc, 4x Smn, Rng/nin & Drk; honestly Pld with high def is best tanker, the tp moves and melee hits stun. We won, about a 15 min fight, but smn did all the dmg. All melee & 1 smn ko'd during course of the fight.

Historical Background

The name Lugarhoo seems to be a play on the French name for a werewolf, loup-garou.
