Notes:
- Spawned by trading a Moaning Vestige to the ??? near the Lamenter weeper monsters found at F-10 and G-10. The Lamenter drops the Moaning Vestige.
- Used in spawning Myrmecoleon, similar to Fistule.
- Uses Chainspell.
- This monster appears to change elements depending on the current Vana'diel day. On Darksday it was observed casting Bio II, Drain, Aspir, Sleepga, and Absorb- spells. When spawned again on Firesday it cast spells such as Burn, Flare, Fire IV and Blaze Spikes. Some Flares seemed to be cast with some degree of fast cast. It also used Memory of Element (fire) on Firesday.
- Absorbs elemental damage for the current day (e.g. Absorbs fire damage on Firesday).
- Was susceptible to Slow and Paralyze from a Scholar with 72+33 MND and 300+ Enfeebling skill. Silence however was resisted every time, no matter his element. He did begin to resist a paralyze a little on Firesday, probably because of the fire and ice correlation. It landed every time on Darksday however. Has strong physical attacks, and attacks fairly quickly so it is advised to slow, paralyze and elegy it for a much easier fight. Elegy had trouble landing, but did eventually. Gravity and Bind were completely resisted as well every time.
- Seems to have a degree of movement speed +.\
- Can use Manafont if you get !! weakness. Our blm casted rasp on it which then caused it to. We didn't check it over and over. But we did continue to fight it a few more times and it has manafonted another time after. Idk how could use some testing -Anookulchandra
Historical background
Lachrymater or lachrymator (from lacrima meaning "a tear" in Latin), is a chemical compound that stimulates the corneal nerves in the eyes to cause tearing, pain, and even blindness. Common lachrymators include OC, CS, CR, CN, nonivamide, bromoacetone, phenacyl bromide, xylyl bromide and syn-propanethial-S-oxide (from onions). Lacrymators often share the structural element Z=C-C-X, where Z indicates carbon or oxygen, and X indicates bromide or chloride.
