    • While in this state Kukulkan becomes extremely dangerous. A tank hit with Oppressive Gaze will be unable to react (due to Terror), and impossible to heal (due to Zombie); coupled with Kukulkan's enhanced poison, this situation can spell the end for almost any tank.
    • Gaze effects seem to increase in frequency and duration as Kukulkan's HP decreases. At low HP, Kukulkan's eyes may end up constantly glowing, only switching from one type of gaze to the other.

  • Used in the quest: To Paste a Peiste
  • Can be safely kited by just about any job around the trees on top of the hill west of his spawn point. With waiting for paladins to recover while kiting him and having difficulties getting him under control, our alliance took almost 70 minutes to kill. Once we figured out where to kite him it went much faster, the last 50% going in about 15-20 minutes.

Historical Background

In Yucatan Maya mythology, Kukulcan (Kukulkan) ("feathered serpent") was a supreme feathered snake god, one of all three groups of gods who created Earth and humanity. He was the god of resurrection and reincarnation. He taught mankind civilization and agriculture. He controlled the four elements - earth, fire, air and water. He is described as comparable to the Quche Maya Gucumatz, and the Aztec Quetzalcoatl. He is less of a god than Quetzalcoatl because he does not control the sun and wind.
