Notes[]
- Cirdas Caverns (U): Spawns in (E-7) Foret de Hennetiel Veil 15 minutes after entry or after defeating NMs from tiers I-III.
- Foret de Hennetiel: Trade Zaffre Yggrete Shard V to ??? at (F-9).
Exploit: Krabakarpo has a special defense that works against the type of dmg being applied, distinguishing between physical and magical dmg, similar to Faded Cracklaw. Unlike the Cracklaw, Krabakarpo defense doesn't compensate for that increase. This special defense doesn't reset at any point which forces the party to swap to the opposite type of dmg due to massive dmg reduction. The dmg reduction is such that an 18 man Delve Alliance will see a -2% pdt or mdt each 1% of Krabakarpo reduced, so basically an 18 man party will be forced to switch the dmg dealt at around 50% of Krabakarpo total hp.
Viable strategy: Once the most troublesome NM in delve Foret aside from the mega boss, with the introduction of hp adjusting to the number of players entering Delve, Krabakarpo turned into the easiest NM in the zone because its special defense doesn't scale at all. A 6 man delve party will never face extreme dmg reduction, and combining melee with Skillchains, the fight will be pretty short. As more players join that delve, Krabakarpo's damage taken penalty will go way up. For an 18 man against Krabakarpo, a viable strategy is starting with MNK with Formless Strikes auto attacking without WS. A fully buffed setup will bring Krabakarpo hp to 50% at which point MNK can drop Formless Strikes and have all melees zerg till around 10-5%, when all type of dmg are useless, and finishing Krabakarpo will be task of dmg that bypass special defenses like Requiescat.
Possible failures: while for low-man parties this strategy is fail-proof, full alliances will struggle if the setup doesn't have a source of defense bypass. WAR, COR or BLU are good options when considering an 18 man run. On a side note, outside Krabakarpo, though its hp is locked to 1/3 of its max, its defense scales relative to that.
