Changes: Koga Garb Set

An armor set from the Dynamis zones, which the player may be rewarded with for defeating the enemies within. The set is a striking red and tan color, a significant change from the subdued blacks and grays of the Ninja Garb, despite both sets sharing a similar model.

The set is unusual in that the precise bonuses granted by it change depending on the time of day. The Ninja can count on significant increases to HP, Attack and Accuracy, Ranged Attack and Accuracy, Vit and Ninjutsu Skill, along with permanent enhancements to Dual Wield, Ninjutsu damage and Ninja Tool Expertise (as long as the appropriate pieces are equipped). These bonuses alone are quite significant, but come nighttime the Ninja has even more waiting for them. An almighty boost of 12 Str, 7 Dex, 10 Evasion, 10 Parrying, and 4% haste. All in all a highly desirable set.

The release of the Chains of Promathia dynamis areas saw the introduction of additional relic items available in those areas. Note that these Back and Waist items cannot be stored on the armor storage NPCs and cannot be upgraded. They can, however be stored with the Porter Moogle.

Background

"Koga", in terms of Ninja, refers to the Kouka-Ryuu (Koga-Ryu), one of the most prominent schools of ninjutsu. 'Koga' itself has several meanings, from 'Old River' to 'Steel Fang'. Kouka, developed from a town of the same name within Rokkaku, focuses its training on disguise, escape, concealment, explosives, medicines and poisons, and the staple ninja weapons of short-bladed katana and shuriken. When Rokkaku began to ignore the leadership of the Ashikaga shogunate, the Kouka ninja were conscripted by the Rokkaku for civil war. Their tactics and success in the guerrilla war made them notorious throughout the country.
