Notes:

  • Spawns around the tower at H-10; Lottery Spawn from the one of the two Tundra Tiger in that area. There is one Tundra Tiger that has its own spawn, one Living Statue that has its own spawn, and a spawn that is sometimes a Living Statue and sometimes a Tundra Tiger. The placeholder is the Tundra Tiger with its own spawn.
  • It starts a chance of lottery spawn again approximately 1-4 hours after the NM is killed.
  • Seems to have a slightly longer delay than a regular PH repop. It took 6-6.5 minutes after the PH's last ToD for Kirata to spawn.
  • Special Attacks: Additional Effect: Wind Damage on every hit
  • Killable by: Solo at level 52

Historical Background

Kirata

In Hindu belief, Kirata is one of the forms the god Shiva can take. Kirata is a great hunter (in fact, Kirata means "hunter" or "mountaineer"). In this form, Shiva appears with black skin wearing a tiger skin, laurels of flowers on his head, and wielding a bow & arrow. Shiva as Kirata was to test Prince Arjuna to determine if he was worthy of receiving a powerful weapon, the Pasupatastra. Kirata is also the name of an ethnic group that resided in India (specifically the Lower Himalayas) before the Aryan populations arrived.

Kirata was once called Macan Gadungan for a short while before its name was changed. Macan Gadungan should not be confused with Macan Gadangan, the name of a Coeurl in a BCNM.

Macan Gadungan

In Indonesian, macan means "tiger" or "leopard" and gadungan means "fake" or "imitation". So, its name means "fake tiger" or "imitation tiger".
