(Some random wiki editor saying "I don't think this NM is a lot like an NM" doesn't stop it from checking as impossible to gauge, doesn't make Odin work on it, and doesn't give it a normal repop time.) |

Notes
- Appears high above the ground level, and cannot be targeted or viewed on Widescan until they attack a player character and descend, similar to Ul'yovra and Om'yovra.
- Moves through the air very quickly, at nearly double the speed of players making it very hard to avoid getting attacked. When it descends and attacks, moves at increased movement speed ≤12% but can easily be outrun by anyone with movement enhancing gear. It does not use Draw-in.
- One flies above the Campaign Arbiter and the Fortification, meaning you are at risk of being attacked by it when heading to/leaving from/during a Campaign Battle.
- Due to True Sight, one must be in front of it to get attacked, not under.
- It is quite difficult to actively aggro this mob. After soloing multiple times, I have found no 100% technique to getting it to aggro. The above True Sight comment is correct; however, it most often doesn't respond while hovering in place, it is best to be in front of it while it is actually moving in order for it to spot you.
- Uses the Amphiptere Special Attacks such as Reaving Wind, which inflicts knock-back to everyone within 10' range.
- Resistant to Bind, Gravity, and dark based Sleep but susceptible to light based Sleep.
- Killed this many times now. Only been resisted twice on Sleep. Never on Sleep II, Gravity or Bind.
- Can be defeated solo by some jobs. (see testimonials)

Historical Background
Amphiptere, Amphithere, or Amphitere is a term used to describe a type of legless winged serpent found in European heraldry. In the Dragonology series of fiction books, amphitheres are an American type of dragon, having only its wings as limbs, apart from four vestigial legs, which are very small and so unserviceable. There are three species of amphiptere (Draco Americanus tex, Draco Americanus mex, Draco Americanus incognito) living in the Americas. They are based on the feathered serpents of mythology rather than heraldic amphipteres (except for the "Draco Americanus tex", or in other words Am. amphiptere, which has moth-like wings and was once thought to be a giant moth).
