Notes:

  • Spawns from trading any NPCable item to the ??? near the teleport crag, between the Telepoint and the Shattered Telepoint, until the mob loads. The ??? disappears and reappears to different spots at the crag over time. When the ??? moves like this, the NM's distance to the surface does not reset. There are 3 separate ??? for each crag, although the respawn rate for each one after its respective NM has spawned is unknown.
  • A player may initiate a trade of any number of items but only once per game day. Items traded to the ??? are factored into a point-based system that determines how close to the surface one trade will take the NM. You can recieve following messages which indicates how close NM to the surface:
  • You hear a voice coming from somewhere extremely deep under the ground...
  • You hear a voice coming from somewhere very deep under the ground...
  • You hear a voice coming from somewhere deep under the ground...
  • You hear a voice from under the ground...
  • You hear a voice coming from somewhere close to the surface of the ground...
  • You hear a voice coming from somewhere very close to the surface of the ground...
  • You hear a voice coming from somewhere extremely close to the surface of the ground...
  • You hear a voice from right beneath the surface of the ground.
  • The higher the value of an item to an NPC shop, the closer the NM will get to the surface of the ground to claim that item but it seems like NM can move only by one position close to the surface after each trade. The minimum price of one trade to move NM exactly by one position is ~250 gil.
  • The level of the NM can vary widely. The NM can range from level 30 to 75 and the level determined is completely random.
  • Immune to Sleep and Lullaby.
  • Special Attacks: Draw InVerification Needed(30+ pops and never seen Draw In), Frag Bomb
  • According to the official update notes for the December 9, 2004 update, can see through Hide.
  • If it has been spawned recently, ??? can disappear completely for about 6 game hours.
