Heroines' Holdfast[]

2003 version[]

Renazo05
  • Appeared in the "Mysterious Gigantic Creatures Sighted!" Event (August 17, 2003- Cancelled, August 30, 2003- August 31, 2003). This event took place across all servers, including the Beta Server for North America, Cactuar.
  • Was glitched during the initial launching of the event, so the event was cancelled and delayed until it could be fixed.
  • It was fought under a Level 20 or 30 cap.
  • It gave 0 EXP and no drops.
  • The Gigantoad was a stress test for the servers, to see if they could handle 200+ players engaged in fighting the same monster without crashing. It was evidently a prototype for the battle with the Twinkling Treant later that year.

Historical Background[]

Gigantoads are staple Final Fantasy enemies, appearing in the majority of the numbered titles as well as a couple spin-offs. The name is a combination of the words "gigantic" and "toad".
