- Futhark: The name of the Runic alphabet, composed from the first six of its letters, namely f, u, th, a, r, and k.
- Bandeau: Whereas common usage refers to a piece of clothing worn around a woman's breasts, this clearly refers to its more obscure usage as the thin headband traditionally worn underneath and supporting the veil by nuns of many Catholic religious institutes.
