Introduction[]

Sushi: not a complex subject but worth laying out in plain English. Sushi is one of the most popular foods in the game for increasing Accuracy and Ranged Accuracy. Because you will spend the majority of your time fighting enemies that are higher in level than you they will be harder to hit, so increasing your accuracy is very important. Remember that hitting harder is no use if you can't hit in the first place!

You can also find a nice comparison table by Sammitch here.

Please Note[]

Sushi provides a percentage increase to your accuracy. If your accuracy is very low then the benefits will be much smaller. For this reason Sushi is not suited to lower level jobs so instead you should try Jack-o'-Lanterns, which provide a straight +10 accuracy bonus and last for 3 hours! You should find these useful until at least the late 20s. However, you may struggle to hit using Jack-o'-Lanterns past level 30, especially at a new camp.

The Big 5[]

There are 5 popular types of Sushi, each is suited to a particular job/role. All of these Sushis will also provide a bonus to Dexterity, Accuracy and Ranged Accuracy. They have also been confirmed to provide Resist Sleep.

Squid Sushi[]

SquidSushi

Food Effects: (30 minutes, All Races)

With the extra AGI this is a top choice for increasing Ranged Accuracy, ideal for Rangers and Corsairs.

Sole Sushi[]

Sole-Sushi

Food Effects: (30 minutes, All Races)

This sushi provides a straight Strength bonus which should appeal to most melee jobs. This STR bonus is also useful for boosting damage from certain ranged WS, such as Slug Shot

Bream Sushi[]

BreamSushi

Food Effects: (30 minutes, All Races)

If you are taking a lot of damage then Vitality is what you need, making this a great food for blood tanks, such as PLD and MNK. This sushi also provides 1% more accuracy.

Dorado Sushi[]

DoradoSushi

Food Effects: (30 minutes, All Races)

Tanks only! This sushi provides the usual beneficial effects but with a healthy chunk of enmity. This food is probably most useful for low level Ninjas, who need to boost their hate while tanking.

Tuna Sushi[]

Food Effects: (30 minutes, All Races)

Charisma is not a stat usually associated with damage dealing but this makes a great food for soloing Beastmasters, where the extra CHR helps with Charm success. Also for DNC Waltzes, BRD Songs, and probably Killer Effects.

Other Types[]

These other types of sushi are generally less popular but not necessarily bad. The don't all provide the common bonuses of the Big 5.

Tentacle Sushi[]

TentacleSushi

Food Effects: (30 minutes, All Races)

Similar to Squid Sushi but with smaller AGI and DEX bonuses. This sushi provides a bonus to Double Attack.

Carp Sushi[]

Carp Sushi

Food Effects: (30 minutes, All Races)

A fairly basic sushi that will boost your accuracy and give a small bonus to HP Recovered While Healing.

Urchin Sushi[]

Urchin-Sushi

Food Effects: (30 minutes, All Races)

Very similar to Bream Sushi, but rather than providing a DEX bonus, there is slight STR bonus and a significant HP boost. Again, not a bad option for blood tanks such as PLD and MNK.

Salmon Sushi[]

Salmon sushi

Food Effects: (30 Minutes, Races)

This sushi gives a significant Ranged Attack bonus but provides no DEX bonus. It also gives a small strength boost. Useful to Rangers and Corsairs with no accuracy problems...probably not Corsairs, then!

Fin Sushi[]

Fin Sushi

Food Effects: (30 minutes, All Races)

Not much is yet know about this new sushi. However, the INT bonus could be of interest to Blue Mages...
