− | Viable strategy: this strategy relies on MNKs. Have a MNK to use Formless Strike and auto attack Faded Cracklaw without the use of WS (because WS arent affected by Formless Strike). This way, Faded Cracklaw will increase his defense against magic, while becoming vulnerable to physical dmg. After first Riptide Eupnea is used, his defense will be weak enough to be one shooted or at least, 2 shooted by WS. |
||
− | |||
− | Points to be alert: while Faded Cracklaw isnt dangerous, its one of the biggest time sink NM if not dealt with care, suposing the above strategy. The biggest problem of using MNK Formless Strike is that the recast is 10 mins, so, failing to finish Faded Cracklaw before Formless Strike wears off, means you will need to wait 7 mins till next Formless. |
||

− | Possible failures: |
||
− | |||
− | - mixing other types of dmg without proper balance, so Faded Cracklaw defense will never reach its minimum. If using above strategy, make sure all MNK engaged is using Formless Strike, and make sure non MNK to not to engage. |
||
− | |||
− | - once Ritide Eupnea is used, it will have a short window till all special defense is reseted. In that short window, WS must be done as fast as possible. Its advised to ask other DD not engaged to build tp to be ready to WS as soon as he attack. |
||
− | |||
− | - most common cause to failures with Faded Cracklaw is its move called Rending Deluge, that dispel a number of buffs, being Formless Strike one of the favored buff to be dispelled (though it can happen with another buff). In case Formless Strike is dispelled, suposing there is another MNK, the first MNK must disengage and the second one must resume Formless Strike dmg. In case of only 1 MNK, the best is to forced Riptidea Eupnea, disengage, sleep NM and move on till Formless Strike is up, then repeat the strategy. As all Faded Cracklaw TP moves have high reading times, the best way to deal with Rending Deluge is to stun all of his moves, including Riptidea Eupnea. |

- Cirdas Caverns (U): Spawns when entering from (E-7) Foret de Hennetiel Veil.
- Foret de Hennetiel: Trade Zaffre Yggrete Shard I to ??? at (H-6).
Exploited Weakness: Faded Cracklaw has a special defense mechanism that builds resistance based on the damage dealt to him but compensates by reducing the oposite type defense. The types of damageFaded Cracklaw distinguishes is physical and magical. The special defense is reset after Riptide Eupnea is used. Riptide Eupnea is used around 80%.
